Beautiful, serene and superb location!
Homestead is stunning, the private property offered a peaceful and relaxing stay. The property is located very close to the base of the drive to Cardrona alpine resort so it was convenient as it reduced the travel time if we had stayed at Wanaka. The room was very cozy, comfortable and clean and the host Ann and Blyth were so accommodating. We stayed in the room with the jacuzzi bathroom, which was spacious and love the heated tiles! The bathroom although not attached to the room was still exclusive for our use. There was continental breakfast available during our stay. There’s also a pool and heated hot tub which we didn’t get to use.

- • The drying room is on the small side and can run out of space if you come back late from the ski fields.
Ann is a fantastic host and made sure our stay was beautiful. We will absolutely stay here again and recommend it to eve

A truly lovely experience
Quiet location only a few minutes from Cardrona township at the bottom of the Cardrona mountain and ski resort. The stone homestead oozes character and the drone into the property looked straight out of Jurassic Park. We visited in winter so enjoyed the warmth of the fireplace in the large lounge area. Tea, coffee and biscuits available round the clock. There was also a small fridge for guest to place some items as well as for storing milk for coffee etc. Guest rooms were good size and well appointed each with their own bathroom. A drying room was also available for those who were skiing. Blyth and Ann were great hosts - attentive to needs but also providing privacy. The house is big enough for hosts and guests to feel like they have their own space. Blyth previous experience as a chef and in the hospitality industry shows through with decor of the property and attentiveness to the needs of guests. We would love to come back in summer and enjoy different aspects of Waiorau Cottage and the surrounding area.

Perfect cozy home and amazing breakfast!
The hosts were extremely nice and welcoming and made our stay unforgettable! The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable! To top it all, the breakfast was better than all the hotels we have been staying at - we will miss those perfect poached eggs! The location was just right and very close to Cardrona ski. The house was really nice and cozy and we wish we could come back during the summer to enjoy the outside area and the swimming pool! We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to truly feel at home!
