  • The facilities are a bit old but it doesn't affect the use, instead, it has a nostalgic vintage feel and there are quite a few people soaking in the hot springs

Japanese granny charm

Old fashioned onsen hotel. The decor is very Japanese granny, which has its charm, but it's not very current. The onsen is good, lots of space, indoor and outdoor pools very much what you're here for. The included dinner options are fairly simple, but very well made. Lovely staff

Retro hot springs are the best

The shower and toilet in the room were very clean! It was a spacious room with a calming Japanese-style tatami area. The interior of the building is also retro and has a very nostalgic atmosphere. The staff at the shop were very kind and it was very cozy.

We loved this quirky traditional hotel and onsen. It’s best to get a taxi from the Asahikawa train station which is quite cheap. There is a restaurant at the hotel and the tatami room we had was lovely. The highlight for my 11 year old was definitely the games room full of retro games as well as the lolly shop run on an honour system! Super cool!!
