I think the quality of the staff is more crucial than the hardware aspects when it comes to the value of 5 stars, and from that perspective, this hotel is worthy of 5 stars.

Pretty setting but little sleep.
The setting and lobby area are beautiful. The staff were wonderful and greeted us with a delicious glass of sparkling wine. Also, the bistro was very tasty!

- • The room was very dated and did not match the entry area. The bed was hard as a rock, making it almost impossible to sleep. Also, the hotel is over a busy flight path.
Very disappointing.
The beds and pillows were miserable, so we could not find sleep. Also, the conditions for showering in the bathroom were primitive, as in the very narrow, elevated shower cabin, only a very weak shower stream/trickle came from the shower head, and the water temperature was hardly adjustable and unfortunately could not be set to 'cold' (rather significantly too hot). Also, there is a lack of a functioning air conditioning (only a noisy 'monster' of a heating device was installed on the wall under the exterior window). Unfortunately, we could not recover as hoped during our long journey from Sylt to Munich here as part of a nice, exclusive stopover and were overall very disappointed. Really a shame and not adequate for a 5-star castle hotel!

- • The hotel does not have sufficient air conditioning for summer days. The temperatures in our three nights with full air conditioning were 27, 28, and 29 degrees in the room. Therefore, sleep was rather out of the question.
