- • The pathways around the hotel gardens were a little uneven so probably not good if you were physically impaired or had young children
Exclusive hotel in a fantastic garden setting
The location just outside the center of Funchal is wonderful. The main attractions are still easily accessible on foot. Particularly beautiful is the extensive, well-maintained garden that the hotel fits into perfectly. The two outdoor pools are completely adequate, and there were always enough sun loungers available. Due to the manageable number of rooms, the hotel feels pleasantly quiet and never overcrowded. The entire property is spacious and exudes a very exclusive atmosphere. The rooms are also very nicely and high-quality designed. The breakfast was absolutely perfect for us. In addition to the buffet offerings, various dishes could be freshly ordered à la carte and prepared directly. The quality and selection were excellent.

- • The rooms felt a little small for the price. The property just underwent construction, and although the rooms were very nice, it wasn’t as perfect as I expected. There was still sawdust in the closet and a lot of ants on the floor. The construction was not completed on all of the facilities, so we were not able to utilize them. Although this was communicated to me a few weeks before our stay, it was still frustrating since this is a luxury hotel and all facilities were said to be available upon booking.
A very special find. We will definitely return.
Absolutely everything was perfect. Stunning hotel set in beautiful grounds. Great location - very hilly but many good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Breakfast fabulous.

The location was great, the property is set in a paradise-like garden well maintained and feeling the relaxed vibe. The welcome from Nuno was appreciated.
