Nice hotel but not worth its price

- • We paid for a room from July 31st to August 5th. We arrived on August 1st (due to a transport delay) after traveling all night, at 7 am dreaming of one thing: our bed! Which should have been ready from the day before at 3 pm since we paid for a reservation from the 31st to the 5th. The room was absolutely not ready. We had to wait 2 hours to get the room. So we missed breakfast while settling in and no gesture was made in our favor. Result: we got the room very late because it was not ready, the night of the 31st was not compensated, we could not enjoy the breakfast we were entitled to as we paid for the night of the 31st AND we were not offered a meal in compensation. In terms of service, I find that this hotel did not make an effort to offer us a magical stay as they promise. There is also the issue of the infrastructure... it's not very nice. A lot of polished concrete everywhere... a taste of an establishment not yet finished.
The value for money was poor. I have stayed in similar resorts for half the price.

- • Very big disappointment for a hotel of this standing - epidemic, greatly reduced service and still no refund. From the day after our arrival, my son and I suffered from gastroenteritis. We quickly realized that an epidemic was affecting the hotel: a large part of the staff as well as many tourists were sick, to the point that the staff started wearing masks. So we spent a whole day in our room. We had booked full board, which was particularly expensive. While my son and I were sick, my husband and daughter, who were still in good health, went to the restaurant. They were then informed that only a burger was available on the menu. We asked to meet the manager, who explained to us that the hotel had received instructions from local authorities to remove certain foods from its restaurants and that the usual menus and buffets would no longer be offered. In these conditions, we naturally requested the cancellation of our full board: it seemed totally unjustified to us to pay the full price for a service that was no longer what we had booked. The manager confirmed that there was no problem in proceeding with a partial refund and even confirmed via WhatsApp the amount that should be refunded to us. Since then, we have still not received any refund and Booking does not respond to our requests. We specify that, from our agreement with the manager regarding the refund, we did not consume in the hotel restaurants anymore. On the last day, the children ate in one of the restaurants and we paid for their meal directly. We find this situation totally unacceptable for an establishment of this standing. We can understand that an exceptional health situation requires changes in the hotel's operation.
