- • Can't understand why breakfast, lunch, and dinner are not being served on the gorgeous terrace. We needed to crowd in a beautiful but very "closed" cave while the weather and views from the terrace are amazing.

We had high expectations for Palazzo Gattini - and I'm pleased to say that it completely exceeded them. This is a special place with beautiful rooms, a terrace with great views over Matera, and a lovely spa. But what really set the hotel apart for us was the staff who made us feel so welcome and cared for. We were greeted warmly by Carmen on reception who was helpful throughout our stay, and enjoyed a nightly sunset drink where we received impeccable service (and delicious Negronis!) from Alessia and Dino.
