The location is ideal, on a lively street in the evening, close to the city center and the main shopping street! The room is spacious, the bed comfortable, and the facilities (locker, towel, sheets) very good! I recommend!

Highly satisfactory despite minor downsides
Where to start..? Overall I really enjoyed my stay. I felt very comfortable and safe. I stayed 4 nights and I had everything I needed: cold shower (there is hot water but who needs that in Palermo summer?), comfy bed with privacy curtain, locker, individual fan, kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle and basic utensils. They supply sheets, towels, washing up liquid, hand soap and even shampoo. I found the bathrooms, toilets and sheets to be very clean! Be aware there is no aircon but in June it was fine. The dorms are great but I heard the private rooms are particularly 'cosy'! I was accidentally late to checkout (by 30 minutes) but they kindly just put my luggage in storage. There are only 2 of them (mother and son) and they work really hard..

- • ...the downside? The mother! She is often in a bad mood and frequently shouts at guests. To be fair, I don't know the full story and don't speak Italian but what I did understand was 'I don't speak English or Spanish, we are in Italy, here we speak Italian' and various insults aimed at what she perceived to be rude guests. The son is abrupt, in classic Sicilian style, but he is kind, helpful, and works very hard. So maybe I would recommend everyone to come and stay so they can make enough money to hire someone else! 😂

- • It gets very hot in the room. There is only one plug per bed, so you either use the fan or charge your phone

I would return without hesitation
The mattress and pillow are impeccable, and the cotton sheets are very white. Bunk beds with curtains that favor privacy. Excellent location in the historic center.

- • Due to some spontaneous trip planning on my site, I had to stay for 4 nights there. After a few days there, I got weird red itchy spots around my neck, like mosquito bites, but not the same. There is another comment about bedbugs, and I sadly need to back that up. The beds are infested by bedbugs. I saw the owner take the bedsheets from sealed plastic bags, which indicates that they know about the issue, but don't want to do enough treatment in their hostel to protect their paying customers against the parasites. There is a balcony, which was nice, but after one day, the chairs on there were gone and whenever I would put a chair outside, it would be inside the next day.
