Great city hotel
We (family with two kids) stayed for the second time in this hotel. The location is just great (Pier and cable car are very close, also Coit Tower or Lombard Street within walking distance), friendly staff, beautiful, very clean rooms with comfortable beds. Those who prefer quietness should book a room facing the courtyard. Valet parking is expensive in a city like SF, but works very well.

Good location, but the hotel is getting old
The hotel is really well located, a 2-minute walk to restaurants on the coast. The area is safe. There are also supermarkets nearby, and good bus transportation to downtown. The room was spacious.

- • The room is not well isolated from other rooms. You can hear the TV from the nearby room. Also, I had a room overlooking the common outdoor area where people can play ping pong. A bit noisy, but no one plays at night so it's okay. Note for the hotel: it's not a good idea to put earplugs on the bed; it indicates that the room might be noisy. The bathroom was not perfectly clean. The bed was old and not very comfortable.

- • The staff. Not very polite staff, we had to carry our suitcases to the room ourselves, we booked a king room with a sofa bed (for 4 people) and the sofa bed was not prepared. We called to have it prepared and they told us we had to wait an hour; it was six in the afternoon and we had come from a long trip, we wanted to rest. In the end, we prepared it ourselves. We have stayed in various Marriott hotels and this is the first time we have encountered such poor service.
