- • There was no electricity during the first night of our stay. The hotel does not have a backup power system. We were informed by reception and management that the hotel would cover the cost of that first night. However, when claiming through Booking, they did not take responsibility or accept the claim.

The place is beautiful, the building restoration is very nice. The room is a good size.

- • We ordered food for breakfast, I had to return it once because they did not prepare what I asked for, the room cleaning, it is understood that the sheets are not changed daily, but at least they had to make the bed, I found a disposable tissue that I left the night before under my pillow with the bed already made, and they did not mop the floor.
Lovely little hotel in the center of Merida. Great staff, pool, breakfast. Thanks to all.

A lovely hidden gem of a hotel
The Decu Downtown is an oasis tucked away on a quiet, safe street about a 10-minute walk from the Gran Plaza and historic sites. It has a lovely pool, surrounded by palm trees and the sounds of birds, and offers 24/7 coffee, and a healthy included breakfast. Meals were delicious and served in a small, airy setting. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the whole ambience is of a courtyard unlike a typical city hotel.
