A superb introduction to a South African safari. The guides were first class, Nico and Ringo - the A team - were superb
Pretty much everything, fabulous facilities, the people taking us out on safari drives were super knowledgeable and worked hard to find the perfect experience for everyone.

Our stay at Kapama River Lodge (9–12 September) was the highlight of our South Africa trip. From the moment the guide met us at Hoedspruit airport with an open safari vehicle, everything ran smoothly: lunch was ready on arrival, and we were on our first game drive the same afternoon. What truly stood out was the generosity of the team. We had booked a Royal Suite and were surprised with a complimentary upgrade to [suite/villa name] — something we hadn't asked for and will never forget. It turned a great trip into a special one for the two of us. Thank you. The game drives were exceptional. Our ranger and tracker were knowledgeable, patient and clearly passionate about the reserve — we saw [e.g.: leopard, lions, elephants, rhino] up close, and the sundowner stops in the bush were a treat. Food was excellent at every meal, the rooms were immaculate, and the staff anticipated needs before we mentioned them. Even the logistics for our departure transfer to KMIA were coordinated by the lodge without a single hiccup. Highly recommended for couples or anyone who wants a first-class safari with a warm, personal touch. We'll be back.

We loved the hotel, very beautiful and modern! the safari was wonderful! however, my wife and I got food poisoning and it compromised the experience at the hotel and the next days of the trip

Incredible experience!
We really liked the facilities and the game drives. They provide blankets and hot water bottles to warm up, which makes a total difference!

- • The food, very well made, but did not suit our taste. The shower has no door and leaves the shower area cold.

- • Unheated pool. At the table, you have to keep asking for sugar or sweetener all the time. They should leave a basket with all of this on the tables. Otherwise, perfect
Perfect first time South African safari experience
Guests were well cared for by all the staff of the lodge. Safari game drives were amazing and we managed to see a lot of different animals, including the big 5, in various scenarios and circumstances. Special shout-out to Nico and Ringo for the game drives, and also to Give and Thabo for the bush walking experience. Thanks Charles for being the one serving us during meals, and big thanks to the housekeeping team too!

- • Nothing, I just wished I had more time to enjoy the facilities of the lodge as the two game drives per day were pretty tiring. But that being said, the game drives were also the whole point of the stay
