- • Nothing to highlight, as an improvement suggestion I would say that the light outside the room could be fixed to be able to open the lock without the need for a flashlight.
Simply amazing!
Loved the vibe – super friendly and helpful staff. Everything was spotless, rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels. Breakfast was really nice, especially the bread. Totally recommend, I’ll definitely be back!

Very friendly environment in the heart of Cape Town. We loved the big shower and the quiet laid-back atmosphere.

The team makes this place truly special
The facilities are great: the rooms are comfortable, everything is very clean and organized. The beds even have a thermal sheet, which keeps you warm throughout the night — and that made all the difference. I slept very well every night I stayed here; it was like sleeping in my own bed, at home. But undoubtedly, what really makes this place special are the people. All the staff are extremely friendly, kind, attentive, and caring. They make all the difference in the experience. Every time I returned from a tour and was greeted by the team with that friendliness, my day got even better. And I realized how much they made a difference when I left here for another city: I missed them. ❤️ The place is great, but what really makes The Big Backpackers Luxury special is the team that works here. They turn an accommodation into a truly welcoming experience. It was wonderful to stay here. Highly recommend!

The greeting on arrival, the support and help from all staff, the staff's attention to detail and needs of the client, Breakfast was amazing, fresh home-cooked bread every day, as well as fruit, cereal, and eggs. Tea and coffee always available. Help, advice, and booking of trips, the staff are amazing, you ask, they organize and book for you, it takes away all the pressure. You can just get up and go. At The BIG, they have a nice big table to sit at and eat/chat, you meet loads of different travelers and can share ideas and experiences. Often the staff will join you at breakfast to help with anything. Fire lit. They have a comfy sitting room, again staff will bring in a fire if it's chilly (without you requesting it) Rooms great, everything you could need and a little gift too with a welcome note. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them (Chantelle and Kaye in particular). There is an honesty bar/fridge and also you can buy snacks from the Reception desk. There is a shop nearby where you can buy food, etc., and bring back and cook for yourself. Everything you could need is in the kitchen. Super location for downtown Cape Town, restaurants, the beaches, Table Mountain, Lions Head, The Botanical gardens, and much more. All can be accessed by an Uber if you haven't a car. Also in Cape Town, you can use the Hop on Hop off bus. The staff at The Big will help you with whatever you need. It's a fabulous place to stay, I'll be going back. Oh, yes - There is also a laundry facility. Put it in first thing in the morning, it'll be back by the evening - very useful!

Great accommodation
I had no doubts in choosing The Big, I had received positive reviews from friends who had already been there. 20 minutes walk from the waterfront. Before arrival, they offered assistance to book a visit to Robben Island and Township. Great braai organized on the property with all guests, amazing breakfast with bread baked by them. Warm welcome from all the staff. Thank you and goodbye

A big family
The staff is very friendly. The idea they give about a big family is very nice. We participated in the weekly braai evening which was very cozy with all the people in the hostel. It is clean, well organized, and if you miss something, you can ask for it.
