I only stayed 2 nights but would have liked to have stayed more
Alma Historica Hotel is in a smartly renovated & extended old building in the Old City of Montevideo. The area is pretty shabby at present but has a lot of charm. It is very convenient for people who use the Buquebus high speed ferry to & from Buenos Aires. The beds were firmer than my preference but still comfortable. The staff were very helpful & friendly.

- • I'm spoiled by European hotel's breakfasts. South America doesn't do breakfasts like the Europeans.

A wonderful, tasteful accommodation in the heart of Montevideo. Very delicious breakfast, very nice staff. Perfect accommodation near the port.

- • It would be nice if the reception wouldn't talk so loudly with the guests in the evening, as you can hear the conversations up to the rooms on the first floor.
Tastefully designed hotel with a very personal approach.
The hotel is located in the Old Town. Everything is easily accessible from there. The breakfast was rich, the staff catered to individual requests. Perhaps the best hotel we have ever stayed in.
