- • There was insufficient parking available upon arrival, which was frustrating from the beginning of our stay. When we attempted to check in, the room key did not work at first, and the employee at the front desk appeared unsure of what he was doing. It was late at night, and we were asked to sit in our vehicle while he tried to figure out the issue. I also requested to use my VISA card for the security deposit, but the employee stated he could not accept it and instructed me to use my debit card instead. I specifically asked whether the deposit would be returned immediately upon checkout, and he assured me it would. I questioned this again the following morning, and he once again told me not to worry and that the funds would be back on my card by lunchtime. When this did not happen, I contacted the hotel and was informed that the employee had provided incorrect information, and that debit card holds can actually take up to 5 business days to be released. I was then told I could speak to the employee myself when he returned that evening. This felt extremely unprofessional, especially since the staff member I spoke with acknowledged that he had apparently been corrected about this issue multiple times before and continued giving guests inaccurate information. Additionally, the office area had a very unpleasant smell and was extremely hot to the point that I felt faint and had to leave to sit in my truck while check-in was being sorted out. My partner eventually had to come into the office because the process was taking so long, and he also had to request that my identification and bank card be returned to me.
I was charged and I did not stay there. They refused me as I had two service keys with my licenses and I was still refused. Yet they still charged me as I booked through Booking.com.
