Exceptionally beautiful ambiance by the sea

Exceptional location on the beach, hidden in the nature reserve. Very quiet, top restaurant. Friendly service. No other hotel nearby, those who can do without the tourist hustle and bustle in Tulum will enjoy the hotel.

Stunning, serene hotel experience!!!!

The atmosphere and vibe here were very beautiful, natural, and serene. The natural landscape and the aesthetic of the hotel itself were very peaceful. The wait staff were incredibly generous and kind. Wonderful service, wonderful food. We ate at the restaurant many nights and mornings, and each dish we had was better than the last. Definitely would recommend getting the room with a view versus the interior room as it rained a few days and it was nice to be able to see outside while we were chilling inside. Being able to go over to the sister hotel, Mi Amor, for the day and sit on one of the beds overlooking the ocean, we enjoyed the fish tacos and Cerveza, and it was a beautiful afternoon. Lots of things to do within Jaguar Park, including the ruins, walking the beach, and some other exploration of the jungle. It's worth noting that you do have some security at the beginning of Jaguar Park, and the Mezzanine hotel is inside the park itself so you have to have a badge each day. Other than that, would highly recommend and come back when it is not seaweed season. We happened to be here during the high seaweed season, and the beaches were a little bit hard to navigate.

Beautiful spot and kind staff

We had the most wonderful stay at Hotel Mezzanine! It is along a beautiful part of the beach, and the hotel itself is lovely. There are so many different nice spots to hang out all over the grounds with comfy hammocks or day beds both in the shade and the sun. The staff is so kind and helpful, special shoutout to Orquidia and Andy for making our time here so lovely. Also, we really appreciated all the details from the coffee and milk waiting for us outside of our room in the morning to the house-made complimentary lemongrass tea at night. I noticed that many other hotels along the beach in Tulum feel a bit tacky, but this one is perfect, beautiful, quaint, and you feel right at home.

Amazing paradise

The place is paradisiac. Rooms extremely clean and comfortable. The staff makes you feel at home and are genuinely caring and helpful. You can walk to Tulum ruins on the beach. The restaurant has incredible food. Mexican beach food for breakfast and lunch and Thai for lunch and dinner. Great value for money. You'll get unforgettable memories. The national park is beautiful to walk and bike. Quiet and evocative.

I loved that they gave coffee to the room in the morning, and herbal tea and chocolate at night.

It's quiet and ocean-facing

  • The daily fee payment. As a detail, on the first day, reception arranged a taxi for us for 850 pesos to the hotel zone, on the way back, a taxi driver told us we had been ripped off, it should cost 500/600 pesos, that made us very suspicious. The Jaguar area seemed very desolate to us and had a lot of seaweed.

Do not be misled by the marketing material or the association with SLH

My wife and I recently stayed at the Mezzanine Hotel Tulum. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, however, the quality of all the hotel facilities is that of a 2-star hotel. If we had paid $150 per night, I may have been happy with the stay. To be specific about the room. (Room 9) • There are small wardrobes in the rooms but nowhere to put suitcases or other materials one may bring on a multi-night stay. (It may be fine for backpackers.) I wanted to put hats on top of a wardrobe (under 2m high) so I checked to see how clean it was. It was very dirty. I took the cloth I used to clean it to the front desk and they offered to move us to the ‘best room’, which was no better than the one we were in • The water supply is like a campsite. The sinks never had hot water and the shower/bath had a limited amount of hot water, I suppose each room has a small heating tank dedicated to that room. We were told not to drink the water in the room, that was fine as drinking water is provided • One of the sinks was cracked which led to it leaking all over the floor if it was filled with more than a couple of cm of water. • The ‘hot tub’ never got hot, and doesn’t seem to have a heating system • The A/C looks like it was installed by amateurs, it did work but the internal split system was over the sliding balcony door and condensation dripped into the doorway when the system was running. Other hotel facilities. • When we arrived I needed to use the restroom and was directed to the restroom opposite the reception desk, it was an immediate red flag, you have to enter through a small room that is used as a dumping ground for all sorts of things and the state of the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired. • The restaurant is well positioned with views of the beach and sea, again the staff were helpful and responsive. However, the ‘Thai’ food was not very good, we decided to give it one more try on the second night thinking that we’d ordered the wrong dish but the food was no better. On the second night, it started to rain and everyone was moved inside. The inside dining area is appalling and depressing, reminiscent of a factory canteen. I the Jaguar Park is obviously being used to try to make the hotel appear exclusive, in reality, it just makes access more difficult. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Martin Williamson.
