I will stay here again
The staff here are amazing. They really care about your experience and go above and beyond to take care of you. Great location in the old city. Walk to everything and tours will pick up and drop off from here. Lovely old well-maintained property with loads of charm and beautiful views from the public shared terraces. Great breakfast if you are not leaving too early for the breakfast start time of 730am. Staff will make coffee to go if you are leaving too early for breakfast. Reading lights and sockets by beds. Good hot water. I actually stayed here again on my way back through Quito and will come back here in the future. Very secure once inside the front door.

- • Don't stay in the front rooms on the street side as it is unbelievably noisy. I first was in the loft which is an amazing space but impossible to sleep in due to the noise and vibration from the street. They let me move rooms after the first disastrous night thankfully but were unable to offer a discount for the lesser expensive rooms as I had booked the loft for three nights.

- • When I arrived, they told me that the shared room was not available because they were under construction. They offered me a private room for 5 dollars more. I explained to them that this was not my problem, that they had not informed me before even though we had been in contact the day before. The solution was not to raise the price, give me the private room, and take away breakfast. I did not argue, I did not leave, tired from the trip and accepted. But I did not like the treatment.

- • Sometimes we could hear very clearly from other rooms or from the central hotel area. Shower took some time to get warm
