Great hotel and will come back

Great hotel with great location, great concierge and staffs. The ocean view room has a killer view. Everyone is so nice and friendly. The breakfast offers food that we ate every morning back in school - nothing fancy but good food safety. The dinner restaurant in the hotel is just okay, but right next door is one of the best restaurants in Dalian (Xi Ding). Easy to get didi.

Extremely Disappointed with Service and Security at Grand Hyatt Dalian

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Grand Hyatt Dalian. As a guest at a five-star hotel, I had certain expectations for service quality and professionalism, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short. Upon arrival, I found the front desk staff to be unfriendly and unprofessional. Their responses to basic inquiries lacked courtesy and competence, resembling the behavior of untrained interns rather than experienced hospitality professionals. Despite clearly requesting a non-smoking room, I was assigned a smoking room, which is a basic and unacceptable oversight. In addition, the staff at the swimming pool reception, as well as the restaurant service team, were noticeably unwelcoming and inattentive, which further diminished the quality of my stay. Most concerning, however, was the loss of my swim bag, which I accidentally left in the locker room area. The bag contained all of my swimming gear, including a swimsuit, goggles, cap, a swim cycle tracking ring, earplugs, and bone conduction sport earphones (SHOKZ open swim pro), items valued at over $450 USD. When I reported the loss, I was informed by maintenance staff that nothing had been found. The hotel manager then reviewed the surveillance footage, which showed that I had the bag when entering the locker room but not when I exited. Despite this, the hotel was unable to determine what happened to my belongings or who may have taken them. This situation has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated, especially considering I was paying approximately $400 USD per night for what is supposed to be a premium hospitality experience. The lack of accountability and assistance in resolving the issue reflects poorly on the hotel's standards and guest care policies. I kindly request that you investigate this matter further and provide a formal response regarding how the hotel intends to address both the service failures and the loss of my personal property. Breakfast is bad, rude front desk stuffs

Hotel is still in good condition, but the service is bad. Front desk stuffs are very impatient and rude, breakfast foods taste bad, not much variety of foods as well, but charged 140 rmb per person, that is worse breakfast I ever had in China for my entire trip, I stayed in this hotel before, was better than this, will not stay here again for sure

Maiden Trip to China, Dalian

It was our maiden trip to China and our very first to Dalian as well. We were very impressed with the level of Grand Hyatt Dalian services and efficiencies they demonstrated for check in/out processes, room and meal services they had rendered during our stay of 4 days and 3 nights. We had previously travelled to other countries and stayed in comparable hotels or resorts in Dubai, Holland, Belgium, Taiwan, Hongkong, Macau, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei and we can confidently conclude they were on par if not better. As our maiden trip, we were greeted with friendly smiles and helpful tips how to get around the city of Dalian and where to get good foods, site seeing and shopping etc. by their front line staffs. Their rooms are spacious and clean and amenities such as the pool and gym were great. Breakfast buffet was a good spread of different taste and flavor for us to start our day and their staff was very quick to allocate and get us our table even when there was a crowd. We were also treated to a complimentary cocktail reception at level 31 for the duration of our stay. We were especially impressed when their Duty Staff, Mary remembers my husband preferences of orange juice (he had ordered on the night before) when we visited them on the 3rd night. My husband says this is customer service of a very different level !! We will also like to thank another duty staff of their cocktail reception, Lily who had very patiently guided us how to get around Dalian City on our own for shopping and site see. Thank you to Grand Hyatt Dalian and these two lovely ladies of theirs. You have portrayed and made an impressive with very long lasting impression of China's level of hospitalities to a pair of tourist on their maiden trip.

Awesome stay and Beautiful Hotel in Dalian

Awesome stay with family! Grand Hyatt Dalian is one of my favorite Grand Hyatts in mainland China. The hotel reached out before my arrival to coordinate time and prepare the room for my stay. As a seasoned Hyatt globalist member, I was greeted with joy, welcomed, and upgraded to a standard suite overlooking the ocean and the XinHai square. Spectacular views of the ocean and the nightly bridge light show make my stay much more memorable! A shout out to the manager Mary’s in the Grand Club and the Grand Club team, they are one of the friendliest and professional grand club teams I have ever encountered. The location is beautiful and has easy access to a taxi ride to the town. Breakfast has a great variety and rotates every single day. If you go on a family trip or business trip in Dalian, Grand Hyatt Dalian would make your trip nothing but Awesome!!

Good location, best view ever.

Best view ever, I always go business trip, maybe 30% of my time is on the business trip. Dalian grand Hyatt has the best view of all hotels.

Best Grand Club service

Kary and Shally from the Grand Club provided exceptional service! They were both incredibly kind, polite, and carried themselves with a level of sophistication that truly stood out. Without a doubt, they are among the best I’ve encountered in any Grand Club I’ve visited.

Great hotel at premium location

This is one of the best hotels in Dalian. The grand view is unbeatable. The grand suite has two bathrooms that make family travel much easier. The lounge is beautiful. More important the staff are the best. Mary Liu and other staff are always helpful. Mary takes care all the needs we requested with some extra. I am very grateful. I was in similar room last year and again this year. Everything is outstanding for both stays. The room is very clean, comfortable, located at the primium location. Highly recommended!

Very nice hotel

A very grand hotel, very well organized, really clean, international food options at the breakfast, nice location, and with a nice view… Very recommended for a business trip, the hotel is nice, the only problem is that the employees do not speak English well

Superb Hotel and Outstanding Hospitality

Amazing hotel, outstanding hospitality and amazing views and services. The front desk, check-in, to the concierge, to in room services to restaurants are all superior in service and quality! The ocean and bridge views from the rooms is amazing The rooms are very spacious and relaxing. Very comfortable temperature control, facilities and also room service here is impeccable! Would love to stay here and it's a benchmark of hospitality in my sincere opinion

The Grand Hyatt is one of the best hotel in Dalian

It’s a nice hotel with great staff (most of them) and good location. The room was clean and tidy, the breakfast was great. I saw many younger people staying at the hotel that makes the hotel more energetic. There were beautiful coastline and a huge square down the hotel, where you can take a walk or jogging if weather permits. The overall service and food in the e hotel were excellent!

Nicely maintained facility. Good check in service staffs. Low number rooms face the water side. WiFi on the slow side. Breakfast has a large selection. Spa on 4th has good service staffs and facilities. Housekeeping a miss. Didn’t clean with fresh teapot and cups post use. Didn’t refresh all the towels. Also caveating not an expectation, having left a tip usually housekeeping would leave a couple of extra bottled water, but that didn’t occur. Despite the not pick on housekeeping. Still recommended.

i like the room design! overall it's a really good hotel, probably the best hotel in dalian. the breakfast was really good. the best thing about the hotel is it's view of the sea, so romantic. if i could come back to dalian i would choose grand hyatt

Best location, close to everything. And all staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel room have great view specially at night when the bridge light up.

Nice Travel

I am very satisfied with Grand Hyatt Dalian, from check-in to subsequent room cleaning, and the hotel's service for global list member is excellent. The room scenery and restaurant food are also great, and I will continue to choose this hotel in the future.

Great property, great service, great location

We are definitely coming back. I FaceTimed with my daughter and she said she wanted to come with me next time to Dalian. She is a teenager who stopped wanting to travel with her mom. So, that means whatever she saw on FaceTime really impressed her!

Great stay in Dalian

Wonderful stay and would highly recommend. Rooms are large, spacious, and have great amenities and technology. The breakfast in the morning was stellar and the views even better. During the winter it’s common to centrally heat the buildings in China but they were nice enough to help me open a window to get through the evenings. Staff was super responsive - would recommend to anyone going to Dalian.

Excellent hotel in Dalian, fantastic service

I stayed at Grand Hyatt Dalian for two nights in November. I am a Hyatt Globalist. The location in the city by the sea is excellent. I was greeted at the front desk in excellent English and upgrade te to a suite with view which was ready when I arrived unannounced at 10 AM. The suite was large, bright and modern. Wifi was strong and reliable and using a VPN was not an issue. They also brought a nice welcome amenities made of fruits. The Club is located on one of the top floor, and offer a real dinner buffet every night that last three hours. The quality of the food was exceptional . Attendants spoke little English but were smiling and always eager to help, and communication was never an issue. They even opened the meeting room for me proactively so that I could get a better look at the nice light show every evening. Very nice French wine selection (high end wines that are not even served in club lounges at Hyatt in France). Breakfast is also great and has many Chinese and international options. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and had an excellent stay.

If you're looking for a relaxing spa experience, you'll be disappointed. In order to save energy, the staff turns off the hammam and the heating of the children's pool. To our question to the hotel staff “why is the water in the children’s pool cold”, the hotel staff answered “because the weather outside is cold.” I turned on the hammam and went to eat, waiting for the hammam to warm up. When I returned to the hammam two hours later, I found the hammam turned off. I couldn’t relax in the hotel’s hammam because it was turned off all the time.

Room is nice and big but decor is a little old

The staff and service were great during our stay. Our room was quite comfortable with a lovely view of the Xinghai bay bridge. There are some nice restaurants in the area, but due to the sheer size of Xinghai square you have to walk a bit to get anywhere. We wish we could have stayed for longer.

Great location. Helpful staff. Great views. The a/c temperature control needs to be updated. The room can be too hot when the sun is out.

Good Business Hotel

The hotel is located at the heart of the commercial district. Great for business if your office is located near by. The hotel has a great view of it garden and the bridge. The executive lounge is big and quiet, possibly it is because it is off peak season in Dalian.

Beautiful views, clean rooms, friendly staff.

The hotel and service staff were both amazing. Many of the staff spoke English and the views from the hotel room were stunning. The buffet was a bit overpriced and not very good however.

Hotel was in a great location. Beautiful view

Beach had many things for children to do: boat rides, dirt diggers in a sand box, etc. not suitable for swimming though because of rough surf and gritty beach area(glass, stones, etc)

お正月に利用しました

海辺のホテルでとっても景色が綺麗でした。部屋は乾燥していましたが加湿器を用意して頂き助かりました。プールを利用しましたが、タオルが無かったのが残念でした。朝食で利用したレストランはメニューも多くよかったと思います。バスルームから海を見ることができませんでした。

高級な設備と機能があるがデザインより操作性を重視して欲しい

廊下からの音や、隣室の音も聞こえず、また窓の防音製も極めて良い。静かな滞在が出来た。中国のホテルでトイレが完全ウオッシュレットだったのは驚きました。 ただ、部屋の設備のコントローラーなどがデザイン重視で操作性が悪い。部屋が薄暗いので高齢者にも文字を確認できるようなデザインが欲しいところです。

A luxury hotel with great hospitality

The room was large and clean with a great view. And the breakfast was wonderful. I also like the swimming pool and the sauna there, which were also clean and relaxing. I forgot one of my belongings in the room, and they found it and gave me a call for that. I really appreciate their kindness and professional way of taking care of this kind of thing.

Great hotel. Enjoyed stay. Forgotten power connector at hotel for the laptop. The receptionist was able to locate it and help to find a solution to return. Will stay there again next time at Dalian.

Nice hotel close to the beach

Very nice hotel with great view. Everything is great, absolutely recommend it!

Good but not great

The hotel was nice and the view was beautiful, especially when the weather is nice, as all the rooms have somewhat of a view of the ocean. However, there weren't any places close by for breakfast so if you were sick of hotel breakfasts after a week of being on the road, you're out of luck. Also for a 5-star hotel where breakfast cost $30, I would've liked to have seen more options. I did enjoy the shower immensely where two shower heads operated simultaneously.

Brand new hotel in Dalian. Perfectly designed, clean, comfortable rooms. Service and staff were great as well. The breakfast buffet is one of the best that I've had in China. Excellent experience overall.
