2 nights at Grand Bay View Hotel
I booked the Seaview suite, stayed on the 12th floor (highest) and had the best view of the hotel! room was big and spacious. fridge worked. no hob but had a hood. hot water was running well. aircon was sufficiently cold. shuttle to train stations were good conveniences to have. there is buffet breakfast but I opted out to try more local food. room had slippers.

You can experience pseudo living in a seaside apartment
Staying in a room with a view of the sea and greenery, with a large balcony, was so pleasant that going out became too much of a hassle. Walking (the seaside road is also perfect for a stroll) or taking a bus to Tsuen Wan, I felt like I had immersed myself in the locals' lives and enjoyed a feeling that cannot be experienced in a normal trip to Hong Kong.

Exceptional stay in a newly renovated, very huge room, for Hong Kong really extraordinarily big, with a great view of the sea. I enjoyed the time for business and for great relaxing. Bus station in front of the hotel with frequent buses made moving around comfortable. I chose to walk the 2.5 km to the hotel to enjoy the seaside promenade.

- • It is good that there is a third bed, but as a sofa, it was not so comfortable

The hotel is completely renovated and clean, and the staff work hard to meet the guests' needs. There is no bidet in the bathroom.

- • The location is bad, it doesn't even have a grocery store or pharmacy. The nearest store is a 20-minute walk away.

- • A lot of false advertising, they exaggerate the hotel's features. If you don't have an Octopus card or cash, trying to get basic things like water is a challenge. Far from everything, and what is nearby is expensive to reach. The cleaning staff is a disaster, they don't make the beds, basically if they remember, they replenish the coffee. The room smelled musty. I think for the same money, I could have gotten something much better, but I was influenced by the pool and the beach. The beach is a strip of sand that appears when the tide is low, and the pool is not maintained. The gym has 3 machines from when the Berlin Wall fell. Restaurant, mediocre. One highlight is that the person weighing the suitcases was friendly and helped us when we needed it.
