Don't get closer to the action than this

I had not been down on Walking Street in years. I decided I would have a staycation, get a room down there somewhere and see what Walking Street was all about now since it's been so long. Went on Booking.com where I book all of my rooms, then I remembered The Walking Street guest house. It's located about in the middle of Walking Street but right on Walking Street. It's a very small guest house operation but for the party person, you're not going to get closer to the action, that would be impossible. I went on to the internet and did some research and their website really lays out the hotel, what it is and what it isn't, and what to expect. I was interested because not only it was on Walking Street, it had a balcony you could look out at the mayhem created on Walking Streets from your room, big plus for me. I was greeted by a smiling staff member. I was going to leave my bag and come back and check in at 3:00 p.m., which is their check-in time generally. She took my passport, did the necessary paperwork, and to my surprise handed me my passport back along with the key to my room despite my being a couple of hours early. That's a big plus to me, but I do understand it if one can't get into their room before the normal check-in hour. My room was on the first floor, like I said, overlooking Walking Street. You could request a room in the back if you are wanting a little more quiet. The room had a refrigerator, daily water, large bathroom, good water pressure, and hot water, containers of soap and shampoo are there as well. It had very, very good air conditioning. The Wi-Fi was very fast, so much so I plugged in my fire stick and got zero buffering the whole weekend I was there, that's a huge plus for me as well. It also has a wall fan, which I like so I don't have to rely on the air if I find myself getting cold.

  • I can't honestly think of anything that I felt I didn't like. In my review, I posted that there are steps involved and that may affect some guests, but it had no effect on me at all
