Lovely boutique hotel in an excellent location in the old town, on Via Maqueda (in a nearby alley), a few minutes' walk to the central square and about 10 minutes' walk from the port. The charming host Mariana, relatively large and clean rooms. The breakfast mainly consists of various pastries, hard-boiled eggs, hard cheese, and olives. Lacks vegetables but overall excellent value for money.

Perfect! Very cosmopolitan and lively neighborhood. B&B near Palermo Central Station. Perfect for me. Safety-wise: I did not feel any danger despite some warnings.

- • Leaving the B&B around 10 am was not easy for me as my return flight was in the evening. But I can understand the room turnover and the time needed to clean them.
Excellent and quiet B&B in the center of town not far from the train station
On my Italian journey, I ended up in Palermo a bit by chance. My journey started in Rome and was supposed to end in Catania. (I had already been to Sicily years ago.) However, on the eve of my return trip from Catania, the airline informed me that, due to a new volcanic eruption of Mount Etna, no planes could depart from Catania. I was offered a return from Palermo the following day. I managed to arrange to return from Palermo two days later, and then of course I had to find an overnight stay in that city. And that in the month of July… But I succeeded, and it turned out to be this B&B, which, in hindsight, I was really happy with. The host is a very friendly lady who answers all questions and provides an excellent buffet breakfast. The room and bathroom were neat, comfortable, and exactly how one would like to have them. It was very quiet there at night. I stayed in the room furthest from the breakfast room. No idea if this would make a difference. The B&B is excellently located within a short walking distance of Palermo Centrale train station. There are also trains from this station to Palermo Airport. That was quite a drive, though. The house is situated in the old town. The neighborhood is certainly not prosperous, but I felt really safe the entire time. It is possible to leave your luggage at the B&B after checking out. Arrange this with the host! There’s a restaurant very close by. On my next visit to Palermo, I would like to stay at the same B&B.
