Sadly we only had a short weekend stay at Moon River. Once settled, it’s hard to leave and we’ll definitely be back!
The property is a 5 minute drive from Cygnet and sits on gentle slope overlooking the river and valley. A stunning outlook! Mon and Matt thought of everything to make our stay at Moon River comfortable: a generous welcome basket, well stocked pantry, kitchen cooking and dining ware, tasteful and very comfortable furniture and decorations. Though we didn’t use it, the wood fire was set up ready to go!

Mon was exceptionally communicative throughout, and the welcome hamper she prepared—brimming with local cheeses and regional produce—was simply incomparable to anything we’ve experienced elsewhere. While the location is decidedly rural—so it isn’t within walking distance of shops or cafés—that seclusion is very much part of its charm, bringing rare quiet, open skies, and a true sense of escape.
