Very Good

The staff are amazing, in addition to the entire lodging structure! It is an extremely welcoming place that makes you experience Soweto.

👎 Disliked
  • The space between the bottom and top bunk bed is very small, making it impossible to sit on the bed and giving a bad feeling when waking up.

A home away from home

This is an absolute gem of a hostel. The staff are all brilliant and made us feel like we were family coming home to Soweto (especially Tebza, Lilger, and D!). They truly make this place very special. If you do one thing in South Africa, make sure you stay here to experience Soweto and learn from the locals. A highlight was evenings around the fire sharing stories. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the food was delicious, and there was also a well-equipped kitchen if you want to make your own food. Make sure you book the bike tour too.

Truly beautiful and special place to learn about and experience Soweto.

Beautiful property. Everything was extremely tidy and well presented. We had everything we need and the attention to detail was incredible.

The relaxed vibe and community of the hostel is lovely. The spaces are very well decorated, organized, and managed. The staff are all very friendly, always concerned if everything is okay. The place is very safe and the tours are very good, with a great energy. The room was good, did not have lockers, but each person receives their room key which is normally locked. The bathrooms were always clean. The internet worked well for social media and searches. The food was also very good.

Great experience and nice to be among the locals. Lebo's has a top team where you feel more than welcome. The tuk-tuk tour also gives an impression/insight into life in Soweto. With Mr. Isaac, we initially only had an airport transfer but in the end, he showed us a whole day of Jo'burg and Soweto with so much explanation that you immediately have a guide. Ask for Mr. Isaac if you want to see Jo'burg possibly in combination with Soweto. You won't regret it.

  • Actually nothing, and if I have to say something, it's the prices of the food.
