- • The host was not very responsive (offering only overpriced taxi service and extra fee for AC), there was a cockroach in the room. On both nights the electricity went out as the region was affected by power outages – which is outside of the control of the owners, of course but usually hotels have Electricity backup.

Great location, great breakfast, lovely staff

Heavenly Stay in the heart of Siwa Oasis!
Heavenly stay in the heat of Siwa Oasis! The staff is so welcoming and helpful, they made my mum and I feel so welcomed! Shakshuka (eggs with vegetables) is not to be missed for breakfast. The rooms are equipped with pillows, soft blankets, hot water, fridge, TV, and a spacious closet. A huge thank you to the owner (Amr) and the amazing team: Mohamed, Ahmed, Shaaban, and Hussein. I can’t wait to be back. Bonus: they have camels, dogs and cats around the property if you love animals, this is your spot :)

Siwa is subliem.

Echt waar.

An awesome stay. So much memories to bring back with!
I and my friend loved our stay at Seliyaa and our time in Siwa so much that we would be happy to be back at Seliyaa hotel anytime. The hotel is pretty close to town, only 20 minute walk, and very close to the dessert as well. We arrived at the hotel around 8 am from the overnight bus from Cairo, Amany, the hotel manager, let us check in early, which was a big plus. She also let us check out late the next day. We booked the eco-friendly hut and we loved it. It’s a simple setup with two single beds, one shelf, one table and a standing fan. No fridge no AC. Everything was clean and nicely waiting for us. I loved the feeling of opening the door and that serene boho garden with the hanging chairs, the shadow from the palm trees, the soft white sand, the desert sun and breeze, are waiting for me at the doorstep. Sitting in the hotel garden in the early morning and the evening are ones of my favorite moments, it was so calm and peaceful. The boho style setup gives a great desert oasis vibe and a very relaxing ambiance. I was blown away by the hospitality, friendliness and honesty of everyone at the hotel and of the people of Siwa. We booked a tour of Salt Lake and Cleopatra Pool with the hotel. They had the best picnic setup for Salt Lakes. If I had more time, I could just hang all day by the lake with that picnic. Arm (who took us to Salt Lakes and happens to be the hotel co-founder) was so patient with us, and took the best photos and videos. The next day we went to Shalis Fortress, Mountain of the Dead, and Amun Temple with Mamdough and had a great time. Mamdough got us local breakfast before we started the tour and sugarcane juice after visiting Mountain of the Dead. The food and the juice were so fresh and tasty! We didn’t have enough time to go for a sunset camel ride in the dessert with Mamdough, which was a big miss, but maybe it’s a sign for us to visit Siwa again.

The room may get very warm and stuffy in the afternoon due to the heat. So if you are looking for comfort, this may not be the best option. The tours we booked with the hotel were absolutely awesome. We loved every moment of it! However, I felt like we were overcharged. We paid 1500 egp (for two people) for Salt Lakes and Cleopatra Pool. 1800 egp per person for the desert safari in the evening (no dinner included). 2500 egp the next day which included the rides to Shalis Fortress, Mountain of the Dead, Amun Temple, and back to the hotel, and the ride back and forth to Breezy Island in the evening, and a ride to the bus station which is 2.5km away. If you are fine with traveling in tuktuk, you could book all these at a much better price with the local tuktuk drivers in Siwa downtown. I will definitely be back and stay at Seliyaa, but probably would think twice before booking the tours with the hotel.
