Novo Hotel Chongqing

Hotel Review: Novo Hotel Chongqing Address: Floor 12, Building 1, Area B, Huayubeicheng Zhongyanghui, No. 58 East Section of Taishan Avenue, Yubei District, Chongqing, China Stay Duration: 6 days / 5 nights Rate: RM224.00 per night Dates: 30 April – 5 May We stayed at Novo Hotel Chongqing during China’s Labour Day holiday, which is one of the busiest travel periods in the country. During this time, hotel rates across the city soared—many doubling or even tripling their usual prices. Considering this, the rate we paid for Novo Hotel was quite reasonable, and overall, we felt it offered great value for money. The hotel is located between Chongqing city center and the international airport, making it a convenient stop for travelers. It’s just a short walk to several local eateries, a subway station, and the train station—making it easy to explore the city and beyond. Personally, I find any location near a subway station extremely convenient, and this hotel ticked that box perfectly. The surrounding neighborhood also offered plenty of hidden gems—spots that aren't typically featured on tourist itineraries. We enjoyed wandering the area and discovering local life away from the usual crowds. Like many hotels in Chongqing, this one was a bit tricky to locate at first. The lobby is situated on the 12th floor of a multi-use building, which houses several different hotels on various floors. This setup is fairly common in the city, but first-time visitors may find it confusing. Fortunately, the friendly locals were more than willing to help us find our way. Though the hotel doesn’t have an in-house restaurant, the room itself met all our expectations. It was comparable to rooms in three- or even four-star hotels: clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped with a king-size bed, sofa, TV, fridge, window view, and other basic amenities. Housekeeping kept the room tidy throughout our stay, and the staff were consistently polite, helpful, and attentive to our needs.
