Quirky campsite with a few self-contained rooms. Gorgeous location 2 min walk to the lake. Warm rooms even when outside it was quite cold. The games area was cool, with board games and even a table tennis table.

- • Kitchen a bit small, not many showers for the size of the campsite, although I never had to wait. Sandflies were everywhere outside, although the window nets prevented them well from coming in.
Location was quiet and sky filled with stars! Clean warm room.

- • Food options were quite limited, with only one small grocery shop and a restaurant nearby. For more variety, you’ll need to drive further into Te Anau. Overall, it’s still a budget-friendly stay and a good option for travelers looking to save. Toilets were away from the room so have to walk in cold to use. Could have better lights near the toilet entrance as the need of torch is needed.
Would definitely stay there again.
A great place to stay in the quirky retro cottage. It is easy walking distance to Manapouri facilities. We walked through the trees by the lake to the ferry terminal for our doubtful sound cruise, very easy and enjoyable.

A lovely and convenient place to stay for exploring Manapouri and Doubtful Sound.
The location of Possum Lodge is fantastic - we walked to and along the beach, into the town for dinner, to the dock for the fjord tour, very convenient and beautiful. The cottage is a bit aged, but well equipped. Nice hikes nearby.

- • We had hoped to kayak which I saw somewhere in their material, but kayaks are no longer available.

Overall a great experience and we want to do it again
Probably the best location possible, the walk to the lake or the ferry terminal is so easy. We did walk back from doubtful sounds cruise terminal in the evening, and it was an easy walk.

- • The bathrooms can be a bit less exposed or more en-suite options. It can get really cold and quickly outside the rooms. The walk to the ferry terminal in the morning could be dangerous around the lakeside, we chose to walk on the main road for safety.
Such a lovely little cottage in a beautiful location right on the lake.

- • Shared facilities were quite far away from the cabin and it was freezing. Toilets were down some very dark stairs. All very open for the cold weather!
