- • Reception Staff For a JP Marriott the staff were mainly students or short term / part-time staff with no supervision. No proper knowledge of the leisure industry. I spent 5 nights in a very small hi-tech room overlooking 2 main roads. A very bad experience and not to be repeated if can be possibly avoided. Although I have never stayed in a self-service from what I have heard the Tasman fits into this category albeit at a higher price The restaurant and coffee/cocktail bar were good. The hotel side was very very poor except for the room cleaners (housekeeping).

I felt welcomed and the location was perfect. It will be my place to stay for my next visit.

2nd visit. Peppino and Mary Mary add to experience and means we don't need to leave the building on a chilly night. Room good size as a double. Reception staff helpful.

- • Not really a complaint but staff were going to send us away from restaurants on the Friday night due to bookings but there were many empty tables. We did get a seat at the bar as someone left at just the right time.
