Surprisingly Excellent IHG Hotel
The Hualuxe chain by IHG is a real gem, although they cater mainly to Chinese travelers, but the facilities are great and staff are friendly. Their pricing indicates that they are in the luxury category (no longer have any confidence in what all hotels mean by 5 stars these days). For this stay we booked 2 club rooms. but BEWARE, the hotel does not have an operational Club Floor, but the IHG website will have this category for you to book. The hotel upgraded us to 2 x 1 bedroom suites on check-in, not sure it's because they feel bad about the non-existent club floor that we paid for or because of our IHG status. maybe a bit of both. We got the customary 4 pm checkout which was great. The breakfast buffet is typical mainland China luxury hotel stuff - VERY GOOD and puts all the hotels in western countries to shame with their paltry/pathetic breakfast offerings. The gym and pool are decent. Convenient to a big shopping area across the road. the 1 bedroom suite has a separate living area, and is very comfortable overall.

International hotel with Chinese touch in Xian
Passing by Xian for a short business trip and staying at this brand new HUALUXE hotel. All I can say is great hotel, great room, good food and staff were very attentive to all my needs. Location of this hotel just opposite the new largest Convention and Exhibition in Xi'an. I also saw a Holiday Inn next to the hotel.
