The location is disappointing and the surroundings felt rather messy. I prefered Marriot Adelaide. When I arrived at the hotel, I had to carry my two large suitcases by myself. No one offered to help me. The counter lady even asked me to push my luggage one by one to the counter, comparing to Marriot Adelaide, the Marrio”s counter lady was immediately to help me to push one of it… Totally different service even though they are in the same line! The Sofitel staff at the counter never smiled and did not seem welcoming at all. In the service industry, staff should aim to improve the guest experience, not make it worse. Most importantly, the housekeeping team rejected my request for extra water. They only provide two 330ml bottles per day and said it was due to hotel policy. They even asked me to buy water outside. This was a huge disappointment. i would not expect this is how Sofitel Adelaide treats their guess…. My Sofitel dream has been completely destroyed. I would not consider staying at Sofitel anywhere in the world again if they cannot fulfill such a simple request like providing water.
