Amazing resort!

This was our first adult only resort. Very clean, great services, great memories. There were lots of opportunities to do activities. Several great dining options as well. Would go again!

Worse Resort ever .. is not worth it! STAY AWAY!

If you’re Black, I would seriously think twice before staying at this resort. My experience was one of the worst I’ve ever had, and I left feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and singled out because of my race. The night manager, Ulises Villagian, handled concerns in an incredibly unprofessional way. Instead of listening or trying to resolve issues, I felt dismissed and talked over. What made it even more upsetting was that I observed him interacting much more respectfully with white guests, while I was treated completely differently. It’s sad that in 2026 people can still make you feel like you’re less deserving because you’re Black. After paying for what was supposed to be an all-inclusive vacation, I expected good service—not to feel judged or unwelcome. I noticed that I was being told to wait longer for drinks or being limited in ways that I didn’t see happening with other guests. Whether intentional or not, it left me feeling singled out and discriminated against. The bartender at the Red Piano Bar—whose name I unfortunately didn’t get—treated me as if I was less than everyone else, even in front of other guests. It was humiliating and completely unacceptable. No paying guest should ever leave a resort feeling degraded because of the color of their skin. Employees represent the resort, and if they allow personal biases to affect how they treat guests, then the resort is responsible for that experience as well. I spent a lot of money expecting a relaxing vacation, but instead I left feeling angry, disappointed, and deeply hurt. There are far better resorts in the area where guests are treated with dignity and respect. I would never recommend this resort based on my experience.,

  • Food was the most bland food I have ever eaten. Definitely not what I expected from an All-Inclusive Resort. Not worth what I paid at all. I would not recommend it to anyone, simply based on the food. Do better. A little seasoning goes a long way. Everyone doesn’t have dead tastebuds.

Bored on the beach

As an avid traveler, recently visited Secrets the Vine for 5 days for a special occasion. I’m here to give you a breakdown on if this resort is worth your vacation hours and dollars. Let’s start w Pros: Location was a quick ride from airport. Security was tight to enter and exit the property- which is always a plus. Room was huge & clean ( honeymoon oceanfront). Food was good- Dragons (Asian cuisine) & Bluewater Grill (steakhouse) stood out but didn’t have any issues at buffet or other restaurants- they were solid! Also, the lobby bar is the best bartender on property! Enjoyed drinks from here. Let’s dive into Cons: There is a snobbish vibe- which can be frequent at luxury properties but here -it’s the staff. They really push preferred, so if you don’t get the upgrade- you will feel the difference. The hotel is HOT! The lobby has an actual fireplace and our room was HOT- we woke up sweating multiple nights! The temperature is programmed for 65 degrees but it stayed at 75 degrees. Daytime entertainment is non existent. It’s literally silent by the pools. At some point, music is played for 2/3 hours by one of the pools. However, It was extremely boring. Guest needs are pretty back burner. Had to walk to front desk on multiple occasions after no one answered the phones- to my surprise each time the desk was fully staffed without any guests waiting. (Found out later that the hotel really wants everyone to use the app- it would have been nice if that was explained upon checkin). Overall this property was just ok. Service was ok. Atmosphere was ok. Spa was ok. etc. This would be the perfect resort if you like extreme quiet, luxury that just makes the cut and a non-social environment. The best parts were the room & beach (although there was sargassum, we still got in the water & enjoyed the beautiful beach)! Been to multiple Secrets properties and while this one wasn’t terrible, it didn’t quite create a memorable experience or live up to 5 star luxury reputation. It reminds me of a nice hotel in your local area with a touch of attitude. Overall, I would not visit this property again as it doesn’t match with my travel style ; however, as mentioned, others with a different travel style may enjoy.

A Perfect Getaway at Secrets The Vine Cancun

Secrets The Vine continues to be one of my favorite places in Cancun. Cancun is my favorite destination whenever I want to relax for a few days, and this resort always makes the experience even more memorable. The property is beautiful, the food was excellent, and the service throughout the hotel was outstanding. A special thank you to Neftali at the Front Desk. He welcomed me with genuine kindness and went above and beyond to help me get the room I was hoping for. His professionalism and willingness to help made a wonderful first impression and started my vacation in the best possible way. I truly enjoyed my stay and can’t wait to return. I highly recommend Secrets The Vine to anyone looking for a relaxing, high quality experience in Cancun. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Not good for us

There's not a single smoking area in the hotel you have to go outside the main gates to smoke, literally on the street. If you are a smoker this is definitely not the place for you.

Anniversary Trip

My husband and I just returned from an anniversary trip to Secrets The Vine in Cancun. We had a great week. We “upgraded” to a premium room and felt it was money well spent. The room was large and open and very clean. We enjoyed access to the upstairs pool and lounge with the premium upgrade. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are things the resort could improve upon. The food, overall, (for us) felt very bland. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either. We were not fans of Dragons at all. Our wait was horrendous and the food was our least favorite. Bluwater Grille was a better experience, but our food still lacked seasoning and complex flavor profiles. We did enjoy the Sea Salt Grille for lunch, though. Definitely recommend stopping there if you’re able. We never attended a buffet, so cannot speak to that. The resort staff was amazing. Everyone was polite and pleasant and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Like others have said, there is a lack of excitement. The entertainment team was great, but the resort is more reserved than we anticipated. We weren’t looking for a party spot, but we did expect more lively music and for it to last longer than it did. Overall, we had a great time. The weather was perfect, and we enjoyed our time by the pool. Would we go again? Maybe. I do think it would be worth our while to explore other resorts to see if there is a better food experience and maybe more activity through other resorts. We give our stay 7/10.

Truly an amazing resort for all inclusive. Great food, beverages, entertainment and amenities. If you upgrade to the preferred club, ensure you receive the service you paid for. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and paid to upgrade and received no extra service, we loved everything about our stay but were truly disappointed in the service we believed we would receive. Overall, had an awesome time, just unfortunate that we had to call concierge for all of our needs when we were supposed to have someone dedicated to our floor. Customers pay for an upgraded service, it should be fulfilled.

Great Service, but the Resort Needs a Renovatiion

Overall, Secrets The Vine feels tired and in need of a remodel. The beds / linens, etc seemed old, and the air conditioning system needs a complete overhaul. Our biggest issue was the room temperature. Despite setting the thermostat to 65 degrees, the actual room temperature stayed around 76. For anyone who likes to sleep cold, the room felt warm, stuffy, and clammy. The staff did move us to an upgraded room, which was slightly better, but it still never got cold enough. We were told that “AC doesn’t work as well in Mexico as it does in the U.S.,” which was a frustrating explanation for a resort at this price point. That said, the service was excellent. Everyone was extremely friendly, accommodating, and genuinely tried to help, which ultimately allowed us to still have a great experience despite the issues with the property. The only other negative was the amount of seaweed, although I recognize that is completely outside the resort’s control. With a proper renovation, especially the rooms, beds, and air conditioning, this could be a fantastic resort. The people and service are already there; the property itself just needs to catch up.
