A stunning African oasis with incredible food, atmosphere, and hospitality!
The location is unbeatable, especially being in such close proximity to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (dedicated to Ghana's first president) and an easy distance to experience the vibrant energy of the massive Makola Market. It was also incredibly convenient that they had an on-site forex bureau, making it seamless to change up my currency right at the hotel. Everything about this property was clean, relaxing, and incredibly spacious! Security was excellent, as the room cards restricted elevator access so you could only go to your specific floor. The decor is stunning—vibrant and filled with African culture, which was exactly the authentic experience I wanted while visiting Africa. The lounge areas were so comfortable (the couches were amazing), and it was the perfect spot to watch the World Cup games on TV. The amenities like the massive pool, the great breakfast buffet, and the Executive Lounge added a wonderful touch of luxury. For dining, I loved having the option to choose between traditional African food and international dishes. The lamb shank I had during the Ghana vs. England game was absolutely divine! Lastly, the front desk team had excellent communication. They warned me upfront about light daytime maintenance noise being done on the third floor and offered a room change. I chose to keep my room on that floor for the higher view, and the noise was so light and bearable that I slept right through it. I also really liked the convenience of being able to arrange a professional chauffeur directly through the hotel; even though it is more expensive than taking an Uber, the peace of mind and ease were well worth it.

- • One downside for non-smokers is that they allow smoking in the inside bar lounge, as well as in the outside seating areas for both breakfast and general dining, which can be bothersome when you are trying to eat or relax. There were also a few room maintenance issues. I stayed on the third floor where the maintenance was being done, and the hallway had a noticeable musty smell. Additionally, the mattress in my room was heavily worn out—when I first lay on it, parts of the bed completely sunk in. Fortunately, I moved to a different part of the bed and still managed to get a very good sleep, but the mattress is definitely due for an upgrade. The face of my room's safe lock also kept falling off, meaning I had to keep reattaching it manually to close it, though it did still function. Lastly, I ordered a pizza late one night at the food bar and it took 50 minutes instead of the promised 30, and the staff member seemed quite annoyed when I asked about it (though the pizza itself was delicious and well worth the wait!)
