- • Want to save money but not recommended for light sleepers, even sleeping next to a construction site! Combination of wooden building and old iron fire doors with 0% soundproofing. Stayed in various New Zealand hostels including other Haka houses but this one is 👍 Every time guests open and close the door to use the bathroom and kitchen, the building shakes. Despite the off-peak season and few guests, the building would shake every 10 minutes in the mornings and evenings on weekends due to loud banging noises. Seems like the door dampers that are supposed to hold the door are loose over time, but it seems like the facilities are not being maintained. Lastly, the noise from footsteps between floors is perfect.

Probably can get something much better than this at a slightly higher price.

- • Very tiny room, toilet/shower was outside not attached to rooms. Room carpet was smelly, too many people.
A hostel that truly feels like home
Very big hostel with different communal areas and facilities, always very clean. The beds have curtains, plugs and places for your personal items, something that is not for granted in many hostels. The staff is truly exceptional and friendly :)
