Very good Hotel in Guilin, an excellent option for Traveling to this wonderful place
The hotel is very modern, beautiful, with very good and big rooms, excellent views of the nature, very good bathroom and a very quiet and relaxing ambience. The staff was attentive and kind. The dining room has tasty food . The breakfast experience was a little bid disapointing but in general was ok

Exceptional and will most definitely return again.
Super friendly and helpful staff members, especially the porters, I felt so welcomed when they showed me to my room. The breakfast was exceptional, lots of variety and local specialities. Love the interiors, the resort has a lot of space for outdoor walks and activities with kids.

- • Rooms were slightly outdated and could do with a bit of refurb, but understand this hotel is a staple piece of GuiLin and has been around since the beginning of times.

- • Beim Buffetdinner war der Weisswein schon ausgetrunken, weil wir erst gegen Ende der Dinnerzeit kamen. Das Essen selbst war sehr lecker.

The room was generally nice, but unfortunately, I found hair on the bed sheets when I checked in. It made me feel that the cleanliness could be improved. I hope the hotel pays more attention to room hygiene, as the rest of the environment and service were quite good.

- • - Cobran por los flotadores para la piscina, que cuestan apenas 1 €. - La piscina exterior abre a las 15:00, por lo que no se puede usar por la mañana, y además obligan a usar gorro y gafas, que también hay que pagar. - Elegimos este hotel porque viajábamos con un niño y buscábamos actividades para él, pero todas las actividades son de pago, lo que hace que un hotel ya caro no incluya prácticamente nada. - En el lobby hay una zona amplia con sillones, pero solo puedes sentarte si consumes, por lo que no hay un espacio tranquilo para usar el portátil o la tablet.

- • Ci sembra assurdo che una struttura di questo livello non riesca a fornire ai turisti informazioni basilari sulle attività da fare in citta. Ci hanno rimandato al banchetto delle escursioni, in cui hanno mostrato reticenza a darci informazioni perché o fai il tour organizzato con loro oppure non ti danno una mano a capire, banalmente, come arrivare a Yangshuo. Stessa cosa alla reception in cui ci hanno risposto "non conosciamo bene yangshuo", cosa che onestamente mi sembra assurda. Su questo si potrebbe migliorare perché una struttura 5 stelle dovrebbe essere un punto di riferimento anche da questo punto di vista, invece ci siamo sentiti soli. Altra cosa, mentre cercavamo di pranzare nella lobby un gruppo di bambini ci ha quasi assalito, disturbandoci per toccare il nostro viso/capelli, salirci in braccio, mettere i piedi sul tavolo e altro. Non se ne andavano più. Dei genitori non c'era traccia, erano completamente da soli e siamo rimasti in difficoltà. Abbiamo chiesto alle hostess di sala di aiutarci ma nemmeno loro sono state in grado di mandarle via. Io capisco che un turista straniero agli occhi di un bambino cinese può essere curioso, ma non siamo dei pupazzi e se scelgo una struttura di questo tipo mi aspetto di stare in pace almeno a pranzare, e non di ritrovarmi gruppi di bambini che mi disturbano completamente lasciati soli dai genitori. Questo l'hotel non dovrebbe permetterlo, sembrava di stare in un asilo.

- • It is a dated venue in a need of refurbishment. It is ok and leavable, but the current status does not qualify for 5* luxury. More 3 to 4 star (at stretch) rating. Furthermore, it he outside pool stays closed until 15:00 for no reason whatsoever.

Non c’entra niente rispetto agli altri Shangri-La. Struttura vecchissima, credo sia fermo agli anni 80. Le camere sicura

- • Hotel is big, and breakfast room is big too... and sometime is noisy and crowded. No big issue anyway. Breakfast is good ... could be great increasing quality on croissants and coffee quality (this is from western point of view). Avoid the travel agency at the hotel lobby (not run by the hotel, but it is in the lobby...): asked for prices and decided to go by myself: saved a lot of money! (beware, in Guilin, you, as a tourist, will be overcharged sooner or later, but at least try your best!... but is is another story!)
Outstanding hotel, the best choice you can make
This was one of the most outstanding hotels I have ever stayed in. The pool and spa facilities stayed open until 10 or 11PM, which is so unique. We had the sauna and large hot tub to ourselves in the ladies changing room. It was an amazing thing to have after a long rainy day around Guilin. The hotel is beautiful, you get a firm and a soft pillow, and there are loads of tiny luxuries that make your stay the most relaxing you can imagine. The breakfast variety, quality and presentation was outstanding. I thin this hotel offers fantastic value for money, if in doubt, go ahead, treat yourself!

Go-kart was enjoyable for kids, the staff are excellent and go the extra mile (drop off area, counter staff and dough fritter chef), nice compound with nature. The dough fritters are the best, kudos to the chef!

Best views of Guilin
Amazing views form the rooms of Guilin... for me one of the best views in the town. The facilities are super complet, wonderful pace to be with kids becaus they have a mini zoo and a kid park inside the hotel. The breakfast very good.

We were happy.
Club lounge food was exceptional, with many items to choose. Dimsum at Shang Palace was delicious, with good service especially by Ms. Tina Nong. We enjoyed watching sunset from our west facing river view room. The hotel garden was spacious and well kept.

Had an amazing stay. The room, food, facilities were amazing. The playground and the mini zoo were well maintained. 2 staffs by the name of 李金花 and 万小凤 were particular friendly and helpful. 👍👍

Great staff in a tired facility
We love the Shangri-La brand but were disappointed with several aspects of our visit to Guilin. 1) The pool was closed for maintenance. If we had known ahead of time, we wouldn’t have booked. 2) No bathroom scales. 3) very few outlets and ancient tech support. 4) The facility is showing its age. TV old and small. Staff, however, was superb!

- • Keycards are swipe-types which are outdated and always malfunction. The cards cut for one of our rooms were not working after check-in, so we had to walk all the way back to front desk to re-cut after testing at the room, which is far.
