Avoid this hotel if arriving by car or you might want to speak to a manager

Location is great but only if you are not arriving by car. Hotel has no functioning facilities to stop and check in because of uncontrolled taxi parking. When we arrived the entire road outside the hotel was filled with taxis, the entrance to the hotel garage for guest valet parking was blocked by taxis and the reserved space for guest stopping was also taken by a taxi. You can't just stop in the middle of the road as it's a single lane with traffic behind so be aware not to be forced into circling around the hotel which is not advisable as it is a restricted traffic zone with hefty fines. Your only option will be to rejoin the one way system and drive away from hotel or block the road and suffer the abuse of those who you are holding up neither of which will be a great experience for you. The crazy thing is the hotel staff know about the problem but just blame the local authorities and taxis. On two other separate occasions I took hotel junior managers outside to show them the problem and both times the situation was exactly the same with all guest stopping points blocked by taxis. If you have a car I would recommend you stay elsewhere and avoid the hassle here. The rooms are modern & spacious and the restaurant sitting over the glass floored ancient ruins is very special. The food in the restaurant was also very nice and beautifully presented by attentive staff. The pool area was a bit worn and not inviting at all and the manager and under-manager came across as arrogant and considered themselves far too important to be talking directly to mere guests so repeatedly relayed messages to subordinates from office behind main reception rather than simply step out and have the conversation themselves, which was both comical and ridiculous. Its a shame that poor management of guest parking and the uncaring attitude of the managers has resulted in this review which had the potential to be so much better.

Excellent Hotel with Exceptional Staff

From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a great stay. The valet team and reception staff gave us such a warm welcome — everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our visit. Our room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable, with a great bed and a selection of pillows to choose from. The in-room Nespresso machine and complimentary pods were a lovely added touch. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring plenty of space and an excellent rainfall shower. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, including a generous buffet selection as well as an extensive menu for freshly prepared dishes. The hotel’s central location was another major advantage. Calle Larios, the Cathedral, and the Old Town were all within easy walking distance. Onsite parking was available for €30 per night, which was very convenient. The only disappointment was that our stay was too short. We will definitely return and stay here again on our next visit.
