Really Great Stay
We stayed at Anchorage Resort Taupō last March as part of our travels and had booked just one night. In hindsight, we really wish we had stayed for at least one more night. Before we even arrived, Peter was incredibly helpful and accommodating when our travel plans meant we were running later than expected. Despite our delayed arrival, we received a warm and friendly welcome, which set the tone for the rest of our stay. We had also booked the bubbles package, which was a lovely touch and made our stay feel extra special. The resort enjoys a fantastic location directly opposite Lake Taupō and just across the road from the Two Mile Bay Sailing Club. We would highly recommend heading there for drinks and pizza while enjoying the beautiful lake views. Although we arrived later than planned, we still managed to make use of the hot tub, which was a wonderful way to relax after a long day of travelling and sightseeing. It was a real highlight of our stay. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well furnished, with lovely views overlooking the pool and across to the lake. The large bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep, and the room was equipped with everything we needed. The bathroom featured a jacuzzi bath, which was a nice addition, although this was probably the only area that could benefit from a little updating. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return. Excellent hospitality, a beautiful lakeside location, and great facilities made for a memorable stay.
