Grand Hyatt Macau - a destination

As globalists, we’ve been to many Hyatts and we can confidently say that Grand Hyatt Macau is at the top in terms of staff friendliness, attentiveness and helpfulness. Not sure how GHM hire/train/retain their excellent staff but I wish other Hyatts can do the same. We consider Grand Hyatt Macau a destination in itself when considering visiting Macau. The hotel is just a short walk to the Venetian and other Casinos. Our room was clean, well appointed and the hotel/casino surroundings are very well kept. Free shuttles to various locations including Macau Central, the port and airport are available right outside and to the left of the hotel. It’s the staff members who made our stay so wonderful and memorable! Ken from the executive lounge helped us check in and detailed the amenities available to us. We see Ken on multiple occasions during our 3 night stay and he always seem to be on top of things on the floor. The times that we conversed Ken made sure our needs were being met completely. Peggy on the executive floor is just wonderful and attentive. My wife has a bit of a chronic cough and Peggy noticed from across the room and brought her a warm water as we were sitting down. It was exactly what she needed and we were touched. On our second night we met Joseph, a friendly face from last year when we were at Grand Hyatt Macau for the first time. Our interactions with Joseph from last time was a big part of our coming back and taking our son to experience the wonderful staffing and food. Joseph recognized us which made us very happy (imagine the sheer number of guests that comes through). We were not disappointed with our dining experience. At breakfast for the first day we met Chennise who’s friendliness made us feel at home instantly. By the second day Chennise anticipated our needs and helped my son with his repeat request for eggs benedict with smoked salmon, no-pulp fresh squeezed orange juice, and recommended lobster congee to us (which we weren’t aware of and was delicious). Chennise also introduced us to Aris the assistant room service manager. Aris was quite knowledgeable about other Grand Hyatt locations and we gleaned some info from Aris in our short chat after breakfast. Btw, we had requested a corner table because of my wife’s occasional cough and Aris and Chennise said they would reserve it for us on the last day. On the third day we once again met a friendly face (Christine) from last year. No surprise - Christine also remembered us! We had a good time conversing and we’re glad Christine was still with Grand Hyatt Macau. Kudos to Kris as well for helping at the table. So there’s best food to go with the best staff experience. We had to have shrimp wonton noodle every day. The fresh baked pineapple rolls are so worth waiting for and the lobster seafood congee is so yummy. Krispy pork belly in rolls - wow. There’s so many other choices but we love basic dishes done really well! We will be back!

Enjoyable Stay with Elderly and Kids

The hotel is very conveniently located at the Macau strip, with access to the train bringing you to Taipa within 4-5 stops. There is also shuttle to and from the port with some waiting time. The rooms we got based on our package with house of dancing water show were spacious and clean. The pool area and the women's lounge were well maintained and clean. The staff were also very attentive and welcoming.

Awesome stay in Macau

Fantastic hotel, exceptional club lounge, huge rooms, awesome swimming pool with many little hot tubs. Huge amount of breakfast options at Mezza. Convenient location next to City of dreams shops and casino as well as shops in the Londoner and the Venetian.

International travelers - Avoid this hotel at all costs

This hotel is definitely a hotel to skip for any western/non Chinese speaking guest, starting by the fact that most of the staff doesn’t speak any (basic) English. We experienced this problem in the reception (including assistant front desk that checked us in), in the concierge, in the housekeeping, in the breakfast and in the lounge - so definitely it’s not an isolated case but rather a widespread issue. Several other issues that make it a really poor experience from a cost benefit perspective (as it’s a quite expensive hotel): - room smelling to tobacco when checking in atound 11pm, more than 1h to solve and change to another one that was slightly better but also not great from smelling perspective - they have several free shuttles from the compound of City of dreams but don’t communicate it in advance - tried to speak with whoever is the actual manager of this property that decides on compensation for such an underwhelming experience, but couldn’t never speak with him/her - Mr Leon in the reception told us it needed be through him and we couldn’t speak with his bosses . That he tried hard but they were not willing to give fair compensation for terrible experience

Impeccable Service!

Been to quite a few Grand Hyatt in the region but definitely my favorite in terms of service! Special thanks go to Joseph (Korean chap) in the lounge and Aris (Philippino chap) in the breakfast buffet, they both are exceptional and I’m truly impressed.

Two nights at the Grand Hyatt Macau

We stayed two nights at the Fountain View Room and the view of the waters of the fountain below was beautiful. Please note that if you book the Dancing Water show with your rooms, you would need to book the nights separately or you would end up with going for the show on both nights. The Show was excellent and should not be missed. The acrobats, the sets and the lighting, with the theatre specially designed and built for this show. We went for the 5pm show so that we would not need to rush through dinner. We finished the evening at Beijing Restaurant, a few steps from the theatre. Highly recommended. Casual relaxed ambience, good service excellent food.

Staycation

Upon arrival, there was no luggage assistance service available. When I walked to the elevator, the security guards were chatting among themselves and didn't even offer to help press the elevator button. The room was plain, and the curtains were manually operated. The breakfast service was extremely poor. Only the greeter at the entrance said "good morning." When I reached the table, there were no utensils at all!!! I noticed a male manager who appeared to be Korean. He only smiled at people who spoke English or Korean, and would ask English and Korean-speaking guests if they were satisfied with their breakfast, but completely ignored Chinese speakers. When I asked him to clear my plates, he said "wait a moment" and walked away. When he returned, he even asked me what I wanted. Among all the staff, only Hara (or Hana) had a genuinely good smile. When I was leaving, I passed by many staff members along the way, but none of them greeted me—not even a basic "goodbye."

Exceptional Service, Beautiful Suites, Great Experience

The hotel is located in the heart of the City of Dreams, which offers a beautiful atmosphere and is also home to an excellent casino. We noticed that the check-in process was very fast and, above all, highly professional. We arrived at around 8:00 a.m. and were assisted immediately. We were welcomed by a young receptionist named Kathrina, who was exceptionally friendly and answered all of our questions promptly. The team truly went the extra mile by personally showing us to our room and assisting us with any additional requests. This made a significant difference, all delivered in perfect English. A particularly pleasant surprise was receiving a birthday gift along with a card from the management, without having mentioned anything beforehand. This thoughtful gesture was extremely positive and genuinely made me very happy. We stayed in a suite that was absolutely top-notch, offering a fantastic view of the fountain show. The room was very well designed with great attention to detail and featured many amenities. We especially appreciated the availability of international power outlets as well as charging cables for various mobile phones. The bathroom was my family’s favorite part of the suite—it was almost difficult to get everyone out on time. Service is clearly a top priority at this hotel. We experienced a minor issue when the circuit breaker tripped after turning on the makeup mirror. We reported this to the concierge, and the follow-up as well as the speed at which this small issue was resolved were exemplary. One point worth mentioning, although it was beyond the hotel’s control: the Dancing Water show had to be canceled halfway through due to a technical issue. After we inquired at the reception about the cancellation policy, a staff member personally contacted the show organizers and provided us with all the relevant information. Thank you for this assistance, which was not expected but very much appreciated. Check-out was also a great experience, as it was quick and completed without any long waiting time. Please note that a deposit of 1,000 Macau Dollars is required, which was refunded immediately. I travel internationally quite frequently, and the Hyatt truly stands out with its excellent team and outstanding rooms at reasonable prices. I will gladly return, and when traveling to Macau, there is no longer a need for me to fly to Las Vegas, which is my usual destination.

A Truly Special Stay - Outstanding Staff & Service at Grand Hyatt Macau

Our stay at Grand Hyatt Macau was absolutely wonderful and genuinely memorable. We were visiting to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and it was also our first family holiday since my father passed away, so this trip meant a great deal to us. From the moment we arrived, the kindness, warmth and care shown by the team made us feel very well looked after and completely at ease. A very special thank you to Mavis, who truly went above and beyond. She personally escorted us to the Club Lounge and our room, shared helpful information, and checked in on us throughout our stay. Her kindness, professionalism and attention to detail made a huge difference and ensured our experience was seamless and really meaningful. She is a real credit to the hotel. Check-in was handled beautifully by Beverley, who was warm, welcoming and efficient. At check-out, Kristina looked after us just as well, guiding us to transport with a smile and making our departure stress-free. We were particularly impressed that the team already knew who we were at check-out thanks to Mavis’ communication - it made us feel genuinely recognised and cared for. The room was beautiful, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Housekeeping were excellent throughout, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The Club Lounge was a real highlight of our stay. The staff were attentive, friendly and consistently went the extra mile. A special mention to Chef Ray, who was lovely to chat with and prepared some truly delicious food. We also had a fantastic experience at Zekko. Tina, Ken and Chenny provided outstanding service - warm, attentive and professional. It was also great to see how consistently well they treated all guests, which really speaks volumes about the service standards at this hotel. Breakfast was pleasant overall. While the Club Lounge stood out more in terms of food and service, Moises deserves a special mention for recommending some excellent freshly made juices and for his friendly interactions. Ruike was also lovely and always greeted us with a warm smile. As someone who works in hospitality and trains teams internationally, I was genuinely impressed by the service standards across the hotel. Everything felt natural, thoughtful and guest-focused rather than scripted. I’ve already recommended Grand Hyatt Macau to friends, family and colleagues, and I cannot wait to return. I only wish we could have stayed longer, but there will definitely be a next time. Thank you to the entire team for such a special stay.
