Excellent food and a lovely pool, but the accommodation and grounds fell short
The pool was lovely, warm, relaxing and set in beautiful surroundings. I also thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant. The dining room was very pleasant, and the meals were consistently excellent and of a very high quality.

- • The hotel’s rainforest setting offers enormous potential to create a truly distinctive and memorable guest experience. While the accommodation was comfortable, I felt that some aspects could be enhanced to reflect the warmth, character and sense of luxury expected from a premium rainforest retreat. The buildings currently have a fairly functional, industrial appearance, and introducing more natural materials, softer lighting and locally inspired decorative features could help them feel more welcoming and connected to their surroundings. The entrance and door to my room would also benefit from refreshing. Although the room itself was pleasant, warmer lighting and additional design touches could give it greater character. Replacing or upgrading the metal shower base would further enhance the overall sense of quality. Improved lighting along the walkways between the accommodation blocks and communal areas would also make a significant difference. These routes were very dark at night, and additional lighting would help guests feel safer and more comfortable, particularly older visitors and those with limited mobility. The bridge leading to the accommodation crosses a stream, which could be a particularly attractive feature. However, the water appeared stagnant and would benefit from attention and ongoing maintenance. Improving this area would create a much more appealing first impression. Several walkways, including those leading to the lotus ponds, were closed during my stay. Providing guests with a brief explanation and information about when they are expected to reopen would be helpful. Given the hotel’s premium positioning, beautiful rainforest setting and emphasis on sustainability, there is a wonderful opportunity to make the accommodation feel more luxurious, welcoming and closely connected to nature.

We enjoyed our stay here very much much. Everything was excellent. The staff were so generous, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We hired the onsite bikes which was a fun and handy way to see the sites. The shuttle into the town was very handy. We especially like the lovely gardens, walking track and quiet places to sit and relax.
