Best hotel we’ve ever stayed in!

Our stay at the Monasterio was absolutely perfect. The art and architecture of the building are beautiful and the staff are the perfect combination of professional and friendly. Perfect location for exploring Cusco. I really can’t recommend this highly enough.

Memorable stay at Monasterio

The entire stay felt special. From the ringing of the bell to announce our arrival to the upgraded suite on our final evening after returning from our excursion to Machu Picchu, we enjoyed the thoughtful touches and excellent service.

Excellent service at the hotel's Bar

Stopped by for a few cocktails at the hotel's main bar and enjoyed very good drinks in addition to excellent service from Joe, a very friendly and professional bartender who made our experience even better. Highly recommended stop.

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Stay in a Living Museum

Walking through the doors of Monasterio, we were completely speechless. The moment you enter this stunning 16th-century monastery, you realize you’re not just checking into a hotel — you’re stepping into a living, breathing work of art. We genuinely couldn’t believe we were lucky enough to call this place home, even for just a couple of nights. We truly felt like we were stepping back in time. The architecture alone is worth the visit. The lobby’s massive stone arches and grand fireplace set the tone immediately, and the beauty only deepens as you explore. A gorgeous chapel sits right off the courtyard, and dinner in the arched corridor restaurant — overlooking a courtyard that houses Cusco’s last remaining cedar tree, more than 300 years old — is an experience we’ll never forget. Every corner you turn reveals something extraordinary. Our room was equally impressive, with soaring ceilings, museum-worthy artwork, and a charming loft that made it feel both grand and cozy. And do yourself a favor: order room service at least one night. We felt completely spoiled. What truly elevated our stay, though, was the Belmond-caliber service. When we reported a small issue with our room, four staff members responded immediately, confirmed the concern, moved us to a new room on the spot, and even upgraded us in the process. That kind of responsiveness is rare anywhere. Special thanks to both Bryans (we believe they were the managers on duty) — their personal attention and genuine care made all the difference. To the entire staff of Monasterio: thank you for giving us the trip of a lifetime. You exceeded every expectation and left us with memories we’ll treasure forever.

This hotel makes a statement

In Cusco you’ll find two splendid belmond properties - so we just had to check in at Belmond Hotel Monasterio . An actual Monastery from 1592 . It’s an oasis in the heart of Cusco - and a must visit, even if only to enjoy a drink at the 300 year old Cedar Tree in the courtyard. I was in awe walking the corridors. Truly a masterpiece. We had such a phenominal evening at tge one restaurant - where an Opera was arranged to make our stay memorable . I have never… and in complete disbelief at the lengths that Belmond Hotel Monasterio went to make our night unique and incredibly special. Forever greatful and spoiled. A once in a lifetime experience! The hotel grounds however, steal the show!

Beautiful hotel with excellent service and delicious food

Title says it all. The hotel is beautiful with multiple serene courtyards. Service is absolutely stellar in every department. We took full advantage of our concierge, Bryan, who saved us a ton of time booking reservations, arranging a doctor to come when a guest fell ill, and handling our transportation arrangements. The food was also excellent, we ate at Oqre for dinner three times and each time was perfect.
