Lodge with potential
Very very nice location and clean, we booked a great safari in the Addo Elephant National Park through the hotel and had a top driver.

- • The hotel overall feels very traditional and somewhat stiff. Particularly, the restaurant concept was unusual: fixed table arrangement, serving meals together for all guests, and little flexibility. Upon arrival, guests had to choose a menu immediately, which felt uncomfortable and somewhat forced. Due to the lack of alternatives in the area, guests are practically dependent on half board.
Fantastic
Beautiful park and very friendly staff. We booked a tour of Addo and had a great driver with a lot of knowledge who explained everything about the park and the animals to us. The breakfast was fine, fresh, and with plenty of choices. We dined twice and it was delicious, highly recommended!

Everything was very clean. The breakfast was good and the dinner was also very tasty. Everyone was very helpful, very friendly. We were there in May and unfortunately the weather was not great. However, the safari was very nice even in the rain.

- • In my opinion, the accommodation is a bit dated. Everything was clean, but maybe it was because we were there in the off-season. It was very cold. There was no heating. Also, there were hardly any guests, and everything seemed very dark.
The view from the rooms was very nice. The room was very spacious. The food was good. Both our kids were sick and the hotel staff did everything they could to attend to their needs. Regarding the safaris: In the morning we did Addo (with our own car). In the afternoon we did Schotia. If you want to do both in one day, that is possible, but you have to leave for Addo early (if you have time, spend an entire day in Addo). The tour for Schotia left from the hotel. We were a group of 4 with two other couples, and that was perfect. We had plenty of space. Schotia was absolutely fantastic. We saw plenty of animals, got good explanations from the guide/driver, never had to wait,... We stayed for the Boma dinner, and I would highly recommend it because it means that you can return home in the dark and see plenty more animals. We saw hunting lions, etc.

- • Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Except for one 'white' South African who, in my opinion, hasn't heard much about service and work.
