The lady that looked after us was lovely couldn’t done more for us breakfast was good plenty of choice but the facilities wasn’t up to scratch ie poor lighting in the room and shower was inadequate eg shower curtains very old fashioned needed to be updated.saying that the room was clean and tidy

This is a little gem. Cosy, comfy rooms are set within a beautiful courtyard. Breakfast is simple but delicious. Coffee is good. Owners are friendly and they have an even friendlier dog!

Vilken oas vi hittade mitt i Catanias bullriga gator. Inte nog med en fin innergård som förde oss långt från en storstad, var rummen väldigt fräscha, och framförallt rena. ( sällan man hittar så här rent ställe). All personal var genuint vänliga och hjälpsamma.

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay here. Antonio helpfully arranged transport from the airport. Via Caronda was rather shabby but we never felt unsafe in the area - Via Etnea was just around the corner with buses to the city centre and a useful 24 hour coffee kiosk/bar on the corner of the square. Our room was clean and comfortable with good air-conditioning and a small fridge. The garden was lovely to sit and unwind before heading out to one of the nearby restaurants and to enjoy breakfast. Would stay again.

Der Owner war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Unterkunft hat eine gute Lage zur Nähe der Innenstadt, jedoch ist es schwierig mit Parkplätzen. Das Frühstück war sehr spartanisch, aber für uns persönlich ausreichend. Unsere Freunde fanden es schlecht. Das ist aber eine sehr subjektive Ansicht. Die Zimmer waren sauber. Leider roch es im Zimmer unsere Freunde jedoch stark nach Feuchtigkeit.

Casa Barbero is greatly located ,Whitin a walking distance from all places of interest in Historical Catania . The room is very nice , well facilitated . Breakfast is fine and served either in the dining room or in the lovely and intimate inner garden. The host was very hospitable and helpful. We felt good and comfortable .

Notre chambre Francesca était grand avec un magnifique plafond en stuc. Petit déjeuner copieux. Très propre et bonne literie. Accueil sympathique d’Antonio. Instructions très claires pour notre arrivée en son absence. A Proximité d’un parking public payant dans centre ville.

As we entered the property, the place was completely dark. We had to fumble through to find the light switch. The room itself was clean enough. However, the area was very dirty and felt unsafe. The property was too far from the center, 30 mins walk. The host seemed distant and not welcoming. We needed to check out early. He didn’t even bother to ask if needed breakfast to go, which wasn’t even worth it. Few pieces of individually wrapped pastries, yogurt, and hard boiled eggs wasn’t what I was expecting.

The property is convenient to dining and grocery shopping. Close to the Metro so walking was very easy. Check in was very easy and instructions were very clear. Beds in Italy are always too firm but that’s to be expected. The breakfast was very basic. Would have like to have had some hot choices (scrambled eggs and hot prosciutto or salsiccia).

Nice Stay at Casa Barbero Charme

Our stay was wonderful. Easy to find, easy check in and easy parking with the help of Antonio. Cute little place with lots of personality. We stayed in a lower room which was helpful since my husband has a cane. It was very quiet and breakfast was basic but nice.

We recently visited Catania and really like this place which is clean and beautiful. The hosts are super nice and are willing to help with transportation and tour arrangements. The breakfast is good and the location is convenient. Highly recommended!

The hotel was chosen because of specific amenities and offerings based on the Travelocity listing. As I was arriving, I discovered the “on-site parking” is almost 10 minute walk to a lot that cost €5.50/day more than the hotel listing mentioned. The breakfast hours were wrong and they didn’t have any on-site laundry to use, even though the listing said it does. The owners are wonderfully kind people that did their best to make up for the incorrect information and promised to get the listing fixed. WiFi was very u reliable and TV was small. Bed was comfortable and shower comfortable to use.

Charming B&B located in the romantic courtyard of a historic building. Tasteful spacious room with a modern bathroom en suite. Perfect location to discover Catania‘s city centre, you can either walk or take the underground just around the corner. Antonio is a very friendly host, he helped me a lot with his recommendations for restaurants and how to travel around. Tante grazie e alla prossima volta!

Good place to stay

Casa Barbero was clean and close to the town (only 12-15 min walk). Antonio and Monica are top hosts, also little cute Lola 🐶was lovely. Room was big and had all the amenities. Breakfast was also good!

We had an amazing stay at Casa Barbero! We booked 5 bedrooms as there was 7 of us and the rooms were all impecable and spacious. It is situated in a perfect location very close to the centre. Breakfast out in the courtyard was great and the hosts were wonderful! Thank you for the lovely stay! 100% recommend!

Lovely property full of character, with a lovely courtyard garden. Access off the street easy w code, location of room key was confusing but Antonio was available by text. Location is 20 min walk to most places we wanted to see. Quiet area on the edge of town, the jumpy tourist in me would be hesitant to walk alone at night but no one ever bothered us. Room was completely quiet, AC was very welcome. Breakfast offerings were basic but provided excellent fresh coffee to order, fresh croissant, fruit, yoghurt and cereal. Grocery store around the corner was very convenient. Antonio was very welcoming and patient with all our questions. He helped us arrange airport transfers and tours through Enjoy Sicily - small group tours w free hotel pickup, we were able to go to Etna, Alcantara Gorge and Syracuse/Ortigia. Would definitely return! Thanks for a wonderful stay at your beautiful home.

My wife and I stayed at Casa Barbero for nights. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and completely quiet at night. There was no street noise at all. The courtyard area where you can have breakfast on nice days is beautiful and quiet with many potted plants. Antonio, the innkeeper, was very helpful with recommendations for what to do in Catania, where to eat, booking cabs, etc. The inn is located a block away from a food stored. It is an easy walk (15-20 minutes) on a well-lit street (Etnea) to the pedestrian area of town where there are lots of nice restaurants as well as historical structures dating back 2,000 years. I strongly recommend this B&B.

We spent a wonderful time in Casa Barbero. We felt like in a small Palazzo. The rooms are unique and very clean. We started the days in a small garden with a delicious breakfast and small talk with Antonio. He assisted us with everything and had answers to all of our questions. It was like staying at a friends house. We can only recommend this house, the host, the staff... simply wonderful. If possible I would ask for a different room than the one towards the street. But beside that, the most perfect place to stay in Catania.

Wir haben uns gleich wie "zu Hause" gefühlt. Wir werden jederzeit wieder in der Casa Barbero buchen. Nur nicht unbedingt das Zimmer an der "Strasse". Die Zimmer zum Innenhof sind zu bevorzugen.

Der Kontakt war freundlich zeitnah und vollkommen unkompliziert. Der Checkin einfach. Das Bed and Breakfast hatte einen besonderen Charme. Die Einrichtung stilvoll. Der Innenhof sehr ruhig. Die Lage nah am Zentrum und in der Nähe gab es Restaurants, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und bewachte Parkplätze.

We enjoyed 3 nights at the Casa Barbero. The hotel room was large and opens onto the courtyard where we had breakfast each day. It was also lovely to have the hosts little dog Lola around for breakfast each day too. Monica and Antonio sent us very clear instructions on how to enter the hotel (codes to doors) and where to find our room keys, and then we’re also there to greet us. Antonio was an exceptional host - he responded to a few questions we had on WhatsApp before and during our stay. We parked in the Green Parking for the first night, which cost €15, and then found a space on the road outside the hotel for the second 2 nights. Once directly outisde the hotel and once just after the train track, a couple of minutes walk up the road. The road felt very safe to park on. The hotel is about a 20/30 minute walk to the centre of Catania - we were pleased to be away from the busy streets. We would definitely stay here again and thanks to Monica and Antonio for the welcoming us.

We stayed at the Casa Barbero Charme between October 18th and 22nd, 2023, and loved it. Interestingly, we arrived at Casa Barbero on October 17th as I thought I booked that night, just to find out that I didn't. There was no room available and Antonio, the owner, booked us a night in another B&B near Casa Barbero, which was very helpful. Antonio also booked an amazing Sunset trip to Etna Volcano for us, where we took gorgeous pictures. This trip is highly recommended for all Catania visitors. Overall our stay was great. We enjoyed the beautiful patio filled with lush plants and had lunches and dinners there. The breakfasts were served in the Baroque-styled dining room decorated with original art. Coffee, warm croissants, eggs, jams, fresh fruit and juices, among all other fixings. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a daily cleaning service. It was well-equipped with everything we needed; TV and airconditioner, as well as a kettle, cups, and a selection of teas and coffee. Casa Barbero is situated in a quiet area of town, with a 5-minute walk to The Botanical Garden and about a 15-20-minute walk to the main attractions at the Piazza Duomo and Dante. There was a supermarket within a short 1-2 minute walk. We kept our car in a parking called Ideal Park for $20 a night. It's a 10-minute walk from Casa Barbero. It was well worth it.

The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the centre and only a 20 minute walk to the Metro and also the Circumetnea train station. The rooms are around a pretty courtyard providing a lovely spot for breakfast. We stayed in Bianco which was a beautiful and spacious room and very comfortable.

Very pleasant stay despite the weather and Catania itself which was very disappointing

Breakfast was excellent and lovely to be able to take it in the courtyard. Lola is gorgeous (dog) and checks that everyone is happy. Elena looks after you wonderfully and is a great hostess.

Har bara positivt att säga om min vistelse! Antonio kommunicerade och fanns tillgänglig före incheckning med information för att enkelt hitta till Casa Barbero så väl som vid behov under vistelsen. Boendet är som en liten egen värld innanför ytterdörren med innergård och ett lugn som inte är lätt att finna någon annanstans. Som ensamresenär skulle jag inte kunna hitta ett ställe som kändes mer tryggt. Rummet har allt man behöver, är vackert med högt i tak, genuin dörr och stuckatur i taket. Välstädat o prydligt! Att äta frukost på innergården var en del av resan jag verkligen uppskattade, med lugn musik i bakgrunden. Hoppas verkligen att jag har chans att bo här igen någon gång i framtiden!

Hyggelig B&B med hjælpsom personale. Vi ankom sent, men fik dagen før en mail med fin beskrivelse til check in. Fra værelserne var der adgang til hyggelig gårdhave. Desværre var temperaturen for høj til at vi havde lyst til at opholde os der. God morgen mad i hyggelig stue. Eneste udfordring var parkering, men vi fandt en offentlig plads (1€/timen)

A hidden gem. Beautiful, traditional building with lots of lovely art, antiques and interior features in the dining area. A lovely breakfast, kind and friendly owners and a great base for exploring the city. The bedroom was well appointed and very comfortable. Good amenities and eating options nearby.

Surrounding area is typical for Italy. Walking distance from Metro or Bus. Walking distance to main tourist areas. Did not have a car and used Metro. 2 euro / day. If you are familiar with B&B's you will find this one clean, current, charming and hospitable. Normally check-ins in Italy are late afternoon but this one provides free early check-in. Phone contact with Antonio will help when checking in early.

The host is very kind and caring. The rooms are spacious, classy and renovated at the same time. There was a cosy garden inside where children can play in the heart of Catania.

Antonio and his staff were welcoming, kind and very helpful. Antonio booked a shuttle for us last minute which was such a big help. The property is beautiful, very clean, beds are cozy and comfortable. So lovely to wake up and sit for breakfast with a cappuccino and fresh croissant. Location was perfect because we could easily walk but yet the property and area is very quiet. The property was artistic and representative of the beautiful Sicilian culture.
