Unfortunately, it was not what we expected.
Nice idea to stay on a boat on the Ganges, which makes the place quiet and charming. The breakfast was excellent, great service from the staff who tried in every way to compensate for the inconveniences of the structure.

- • Surely it must have seen better days in the past, the structure has many structural problems. In the bathroom, there is a constant sewer smell, and the walls of the room are damp. During our stay, one evening, there was a storm that prevented us from entering the rooms because the gangway connecting the boat to the dock was unstable and therefore inaccessible. The wind may have caused some problems with the pipes, in fact, there was no hot water for several hours, and we were unable to take a shower after a whole day of touring.

I stayed last week, the property was excellent, but the receptionist's behavior was very bad. I booked yesterday for a prepaid booking of a river cabin, but suddenly, due to family issues, my trip was canceled. I called the reception and asked for a refund. They showed me the policies, but there is no written policy.

After flight issues due to a blizzard, we arrived tired and jetlagged. From the moment we arrived in front of the hotel, we were treated like family. The warmth of every staff member touched our hearts. We immediately made connections. For travelers who value authentic "immersion" over sterile chains, the Polo Floatel is a masterpiece of atmospheric storytelling. As professionals in the themed entertainment industry, we were struck by how this hotel uses its maritime heritage as a primary design engine. We stayed in a Heritage Room, where a massive window functioned as a "live-stream TV" of the bustling Hooghly River. Watching the tugs and ferries navigate the current from the comfort of our room was hypnotic. The hotel is a favorite for local Indian families celebrating milestones, which gave the atmosphere a genuine, celebratory soul. Pro Tip: Don't miss the Bistro Bar on the top deck at sunset. We took a 5:15 PM Nauka ride (traditional boat) that turned into a two-hour twilight picnic. Coming back to the Floatel with the city lights reflecting on the water was the highlight of our Kolkata stay. Excellent service and a hearty breakfast!
