Is this a five-star hotel? Definitely not!
The location was very good. It was located in the pedestrian area of Nguyen Hue Street in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City (District 1), within walking distance to many major tourist attractions, making it great for early morning walks. When my return flight with Vietnam Airlines was in Vietnamese for web check-in, the hotel concierge kindly assisted me.

- • Although it is a historic five-star hotel, there was a sense of antiquity in the overall facilities. I had booked a Premium King Room (with two single beds) with an additional extra bed for a room for three people. However, during check-in, I was asked whether I wanted a double or single bed, and upon entering the room, the extra bed was not prepared. I wondered what the reservation was for. Is this a five-star hotel? Despite the room rate being about twice as much as the five-star hotel in Hue where I stayed previously, the room was on the 1st floor (equivalent to the 2nd floor in Japan) with no outward-facing windows, only windows facing a dirty inner courtyard. There was no sense of value for money.

A truly wonderful stay. The room was amazing, and the historical ambiance of the place was evident everywhere. The location couldn't be better, and the staff was amazing.

Convenient location in a well-maintained historic hotel.
The Executive room is bright and spacious with a huge window overlooking the boulevard. It is an old property that is well maintained, with automated black curtains and functional lighting control.

- • The room had a slight musty smell and odor from the drain pipes near the bathroom. I used my air freshener. There was a night light only under one side table but not the other.
The hotel is located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, surrounded by designer shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, and train stations for easy access to everything. The area is lively and safe, with people taking pictures. It's a place to marvel at and say, 'I went and stayed here.'

It is a wonderful living piece of history.
Loved the older character building, especially the dining room, the pool area, and the rooftop garden bar. Live piano music in the lounge. We had three rooms for three generations, and there were no complaints. The children enjoyed breakfast times. The location is excellent for the places we visited. The furnishings in the rooms and throughout the hotel were very fitting for the building.
