What did we like? Everything. We traded multiple messages with the owner (Jose) before our arrival, and he met us in person to show us to our apartment and explained the unique history of the property. Every day during our visit either he or someone else made an effort to check in on us and offer us an evening Port Wine. The apartment was well-outfitted with a living room, dining room, three bedrooms and three and half bathrooms, with a secluded outside patio. Ample food was provided for breakfast, including fresh bread every day. Guimarães castle and city center are easily walkable, as are grocery stores, but driving is also convenient if walking isn't your thing.

- • There was no way humanly possible to eat all of the bread that was delivered every day. We ended up with enough extra that it was able to feed me for the four day return journey!! The only other negative was that two of the three bedrooms had only single beds rather than a double beds for couples. If you are booking the apartments with multiple couples, recommend letting them know ahead of time to see if they can "join" the beds.
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Margaridi. We enjoyed the Pool and the historical gardens. Jose is wonderful host. It is the perfect location to visit Guimaraes

The hotel staff. It has been a pleasure to meet them and enjoy the stay. The stone houses and the garden are beautiful. And the glasses of port wine they offered you every time they saw you were a great detail.

Wonderful
We were 4 friends to see the World Rally Championship in Portugal and stayed in one of the 3-bedroom villas, the place is comfortable and cozy very well maintained and with everything you may need. Both Jose and the staff were very attentive people, the accommodation had everything necessary for a good breakfast or even a snack, they invited us for a drink upon arrival and the second day provided us with more jam since we had run out. It is worth mentioning that the reason we were going required getting up very early and Jose made sure we had fresh bread both mornings very early before going to see the rally. Without a doubt, an ideal place for your stay.

Excellent stay. The gardens are fantastic, as well as the accommodation that is very well equipped. Very close to the city center. A special thanks to Mr. José and Hugo who were always available and concerned about the well-being of the guests. Fantastic.

It is a very well-kept and safe place, the villas are very beautiful and nothing is missing. In addition, the staff is always making sure you have everything you need. A luxury.

A little paradise
A nice accommodation on a beautiful estate. The garden, the pool, and the service were more than good. Drinking ice-cold rosé port on your terrace at sunset with the birds in the background was amazing. All the peace and yet close to the city of Guimarães. We walked downhill to the center in 20 minutes, back for 3 euros an Uber. We enjoyed it!
