Charming Historic Hotel in a Perfect Location, but Not Entirely for Me
The biggest strength of this hotel is definitely the location. Being right in the center of Göteborg and next to the station made everything very convenient. The building itself is beautiful and full of character, and the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming throughout the stay. The hotel is also very clean and clearly well maintained. Breakfast was good as well, with a nice selection of options.

- • I think the extremely high ratings online created expectations that were a little too high for me personally. While the historic atmosphere is charming, the old-style interior also made the hotel feel somewhat stuffy at times, although that may simply come down to personal taste. Noise isolation is not great and you can hear the wooden structure creaking quite a lot. Breakfast also became very crowded during busy hours, to the point that I ended up sitting in another room on the other side of the hotel. I also personally did not like the old-fashioned key system. Instead of using a modern key card, guests have to leave the physical room key at reception every time they go out and pick it up again when returning. Some people may find this charming and traditional, but for me it felt a bit inconvenient. Overall, I can understand why many people love this place, but I’m not sure I would personally return.
