Amazing hotel with heart – the staff is the real star! ❤️
A huge thank you for every single one of the 12 wonderful days we spent at InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping! The biggest highlight for us was definitely the staff – they are incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Please cherish and take good care of them, because they truly make the difference! We especially loved how beautifully they organized the room decorations for our little daughter’s 3rd birthday celebration. It looked stunning and tasteful, and we also received a lovely welcome message from the hotel. Every day they surprised us with small but elegant and thoughtful gestures that made us feel truly valued and special. We would happily return again and highly recommend this hotel – especially for families with children!

- • During burning season the rooftop isn’t open but that’s fair enough just keep in mind
My overall experience was good except I did not like the bathroom design. Being a person sensitive to light during sleep, I prefer a room with complete darkness or minimum night light. The bathroom has glass sliding doors with some wooden design on it, meaning light from the bathroom will filter through the room whenever someone else uses the bathroom at night. Imagine you are sleeping and all of a sudden, a shaft of light shines into the bedroom. This is my main grouse otherwise room is clean, staff are friendly and attentive. Location is good.

Great times at the Intercontinental
The hotel is in a great neighborhood and a 25 minute walk to the old city. It’s well managed and the staff are awesome. I especially liked Mr Tam at the poolside bar: a super nice guy who I caught quietly juggling limes before mixing my drinks 🤣. He’s very friendly and was kind enough to share his insight into what it’s like to live in Chiang Mai. It was nice to get a local’s perspective and he made me & my wife feel at home while staying at the hotel. I wish all other hotels had a “Mr Tam” - he made us feel truly welcomed to Chiang Mai. The neighborhood has a lot of great food stalls and bars nearby but the neighborhood vibe is quiet and safe. The few hostels nearby bring a young, vibrant group of people around, but overall everyone is pretty chill. There are plenty of night markets and Michelin restaurants within 5-10 minutes walking, so be ready for some nearby exploring. I can’t wait to come back to the Intercontinental Chiang Mai p.s. The rooftop bar has awesome views - just make sure to take the far left elevator (if you know, you know)

- • Almost perfect... but do pay attention to the central table legs in the restaurant room as there is dust present on all tables. It's a small detail but I know you will fix it.
Excellent and the staff very polite and helpful.
