Satisfactory spot for the family at a good price

My family and I spent about a week here at the Springhill Suites San Diego Rancho Bernardo/Scripps Poway and had a pretty good time together. We were in town for a youth baseball tournament. The surrounding area was OK with a restaurant right next door and a couple more dining options nearby. Major freeway access was a few blocks away, so you can pretty much get on your way to wherever pretty quickly. I prefer a high unit, so I chose one facing out towards the front of the property. The kids will enjoy the pool, and the adults will enjoy the workout room. Plenty of parking, including the Chili's restaurant area next door. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. I slept one night on the sofa bed, and surprisingly, it was pretty comfortable with the right pillow setup. I don't have a lot of sofa bed sleeping experience, but this was about as comfortable as falling asleep on my own couch at home while binge-watching a Netflix series. The rooms were large enough for about 5 or 6 pre-teen boys to hang out and not be all over each other. Dummies had a NERF gun fight in the room while I was at the gym. For the most part, the property was quiet given the amount of kids staying there for the year-end tournament. Front desk staff could have been a touch quicker with the towel service, but it can be expected that service would be slower with all the families having soiled room towels and pool towels. Additionally, the room maintenance staff seemed, IMHO, pretty impersonal and uninterested in speaking with you. I often engage with the staff and leave a tip as a courtesy for good customer service. Not this time. I'd return for the price, though.

This was our first time staying here while visiting Legoland and Seaworld! We had a quick and easy check-in process as well as the checkout. The rooms were clean and spacious! They have many breakfast options as well. My kids enjoyed the pool! I will be returning for future stays!

Avoid. Read the negative reviews before staying here and ruining your trip.

Really outdated hotel that seems to have grown organically for the last couple of decades. I am surprised no one has mentioned this - all rooms have this door between each other. There is absolutely no sound isolation. You can hear your neighbor sneeze! If you get kids in the adjacent room, you might as well go sleep in the car. There was mold in the tub. Water in the sink by the bathroom was cold. The plumbing gurgles and sounds like it might explode. This hotel needs to be bulldozed and rebuilt. Minor advantages - there’s a Chilis, a Bar and Grill and Wendy’s walking distance.

Everything was excellent including the staff and the price. Would have preferred not having to pay for parking but otherwise excellent experience

We felt very safe & the staff were very nice. We found a bit of trash and a small toy from previous guests but not enough to make us say anything. The room was fine. I would bring my own TP next time as the kind in the rooms was thin & rough. Breakfast was fine too. Nothing special
