Spent a relaxing 5 days
The room balcony had a permanent laundry drying rack and a ceiling fan, so the laundry dried quickly, which was very helpful as we had two elementary school children. The room was clean. The staff were all kind, and we had a pleasant stay every day. We could play volleyball and table tennis for free, so our 4-night stay was never boring. There were many other things for children to enjoy. The breakfast variety was rich and delicious. Island hopping seemed a bit expensive, but departing directly from the hotel was stress-free. There was a private beach, but we couldn't swim due to jellyfish, which was disappointing, but the beach and pool were supervised, so it felt safe.

- • Limited restaurant variety. The shop didn't have things we wanted to buy. It would have been nice if there were more souvenirs available.

Kota Kinabalu Shangri-La is the best value Shangri-La. Friends who like good service, food, water facilities, and beautiful sunsets should not miss it!!
The hotel with sunset view. The swimming pool and nearby water facilities made the children very happy. We went on a Thursday and the buffet was delicious, and the fire dance was impressive. If you go on a Thursday, remember to book the restaurant in advance. Inside the Star Marina next door, you can book various water activities (extra charge). For friends staying longer, I recommend participating.

- • The hotel is a bit old. When we entered, there were still many parts under construction (no noise, just separated). Looking forward to the newly built rooms making the entire Kota Kinabalu Shangri-La even better!!
