Disappointing
The staff was very friendly. The AC didn't work at first, but was resolved quickly.

- • The pool is open to the public and overcrowded. Do not count it as an amenity for the hotel guests if it's overrun by those not staying. The pool bar has loud music until 11pm and is open until midnight. Only stay here if you are planning late nights every night and not interested in the pool. Otherwise, this is not a family-friendly, work-friendly hotel. Bachelorette party types only.
The Ryder Hotel was a great stay overall. The room was spacious with a beautiful bathroom, and the design had a relaxed coastal feel with a subtle bohemian touch. The lobby café was a nice bonus, with plenty of chill areas to unwind. The pool had a great vibe, and there were also quiet spots to get some work done. The entire hotel had a really welcoming, laid-back atmosphere.

- • One downside was the lack of sound insulation in the rooms. Street noise from traffic and early-morning garbage collection was very noticeable, and there was also music playing on repeat for a few hours each night. The room door had a large gap at the bottom and sides, letting in both light and hallway noise—so you could hear people passing by clearly. This made it difficult to get a good night's sleep, especially as late sleepers. Improving soundproofing would make a big difference to the overall experience.
Nothing, it was dirty.

- • Don't let the modern photos fool you. While the hotel looks good online, the reality is a nightmare. The rooms were filthy; we found hair from previous guests everywhere, and the bedding was visibly dirty. On top of that, the walls are paper-thin. You can hear everything and everyone, and the music from the bar outside blasts all night long. If you actually want to sleep, this is the wrong place for you. When we reported these issues, the staff at the reception were very reluctant to help. To make matters worse, management still hasn't responded to my messages and they are seemingly unable to provide a simple invoice. Extremely unprofessional.
Loved the fun and original atmosphere.

- • The dance party music that was constantly playing from 8 am till beyond 10pm was terrible. It could be heard in the late evening in our room and prevented falling asleep. It started up again WAY too early. I HIGHLY recommend no music at all until 11 am. If music is necessary for some reason in the morning I suggest spa/soothing music at a very quiet volume in the morning. When you do decide to switch to dance party please keep this at a LOW volume. Most people at the pool had to put headphones/airpods in or were shouting at each other to talk. Same with the bar, dining area, and the back patio. It was everywhere and you could not get away from it. In the evening after 6 you should switch to quiet jazz or piano or something less offensive while dining. Music should be totally off or extremely low at 9pm to allow people to start to go to bed. Honestly the piped in/pumped up music completely took away from enjoying your hotel.
The front desk personnel were very welcoming, the location was great and the pool and bar made the stay that much more enjoyable.
Very clean. Having the pool and bar was amazing!
