  • Couldn’t do ironing in your room - only possibility is to check it into laundry and pay for it - I was quite shocked by that!

  • The staff was not very attentive, the facilities are nothing like the photos shown, the pool area is very dark, it was quite messy, and the gym is very hard to find and everything was very old, it lacked a bit of maintenance, I say this to be a hotel and by the photos they show, upon arriving at the place it does not meet expectations.

Our stays have generally been pleasant. We are willing to give the hotel another try, as we do enjoy the location, but I must admit that our expectations are now quite low following these experiences.

  • We have been returning to the Emperador Hotel regularly, as we really value its convenient proximity to the airport and the excellent nearby restaurants. However, we have unfortunately had another disappointing check-in experience. We had informed the hotel in advance that we would be arriving before 2am. When we arrived, it was pouring with rain and no one offered to assist us with our luggage. We had four large suitcases and three pieces of hand luggage, and when my wife asked the staff member outside for help, he simply looked at us without offering any assistance. At reception, the situation did not improve. The receptionist was unable to locate our reservation, and the check-in process took around 15 minutes. Again, no one offered to help us with our luggage to the room. This is not the first time we have experienced issues. Last year, despite booking a suite, we were unable to check in early, while a friend of ours from the US, who had a standard booking and arrived around 9am, was checked in early and upgraded to a suite. Meanwhile, we were asked to wait until 3pm, which felt very inconsistent and disappointing. However, having a second poor check-in experience is concerning and not in line with the level of service we would expect.

Food for thought. I booked through Booking, everything as usual and always. I arrived at night. First time in the city, arrived at the hotel at 01:30. Checked in, paying with a Master card from a major European bank. Not possible 😳! It's a debit card. What if you damage something in the hotel!!!! Ok. Here's your BBVA VISA. Not possible 😳!!! It's also a debit card. Interestingly, all over the world, in any place, significantly more upscale, everything is ok and only here it's not possible! Ok. It's 3 o'clock in the morning. I'm exhausted. Here, take 1100 € (cost of 4 nights) in cash, we'll sort it out in the morning and I'll make a transfer from the account. We called - we called the senior manager, couldn't reach him, he was sleeping at night.)) Another refusal. It's fine if you're alone and almost light, but if you have a family, children, suitcases, night!!!! In the end, I gave up, took a taxi, went to another hotel, calmly paid with a card and checked in. I thought about suing on principle, but I saw how everything works there and waved it off... For many years, for the first time, I encountered such blatant customer service. Draw your own conclusions...
