Best Hotel in Taipei

Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Your staff was very friendly and helpful. That especially included all the staff members who helped us find directions to places we wanted to visit as well as the taxi cab drivers who took us to night markets, shopping districts, temples, and other friends we visited. Thank you also to all the staff who cleaned our rooms. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Executive king room is quite small and impact. Couldn't even strech out in the bath tub. Room otherwise is clean, bed is comfortable. Buffet breakfast is the highlight of the day. Spoiled with choices, foods are mostly fresh. Hotel is conveniently situated. Subway station is just across the road and bus hubs are a minute of walk. Staff are mostly pleasant and helpful.

Impressive interior, rooms are clean and incredibly spacious, service is outstanding! Wish I had more time to use the amenities but it was a nice comfortable stay either way! It’s located right next to an MRT station which was really convenient!

A nice stay but more like a 4 star experience

All in all, a comfortable stay. Breakfast was fantastic- a real highlight. I also received a small birthday cake from the on-site patisserie, which was lovely. Daily housekeeping was great. The hotel has a plain beige/brown and very corporate interior design. The dark wood piano bar was nice but the staff seemed stressed and the drinks were not very good- perhaps we went on a bad day. We were looking forward to using the swimming pool area but it was way too small, hot and always busy with children. Reservations for the pool were required, which is understandable but removes flexibility from our schedules. In my opinion, this should be a 4 or 4.5 star hotel, not a 5 star, as it lacks a bit of the quality and finesse of a typical 5 star hotel: for example, there was a large stain/mark on the varnished wood in the room and the soundproofing of the room doors was not sufficient- we heard doors closing throughout the night. It was a good experience overall considering that it was our first time staying in Taipei.

First, very clean room, comfortable bed, sound proof, and staff are polite and friendly. Location is great, a minute walk from station. Easy access to Avery where! We are coffee lovers and Very good coffee shop nearby is a plus!

Nice place to stay in Taipei.

Hotel has amazing breakfast buffet (Tropical fresh fruits, fresh honey for fresh yogurt or waffles. Lots of local and Japanese dishes including fresh sushi rice. Lots of drinks to choose from. Such as tea, coffee, latte, fresh juice, fresh soy milk ( the best I have ever had) There’s also an executive option where it includes breakfast buffet, happy hour for lunch and happy hour for dinner. The happy hour for dinner has a few hot food items. These hot food items ends at 7pm. They start putting the hot food item away around 6:55pm. The food was very good. The cold items like finger sandwiches, desserts, wine, tea are available until 9pm….or 10 pm. Please check with the hotel. The rooms are huge and very quiet. The AC works very well. The big bath tube in the bathroom is just a tub not a jacuzzi. There’s free parking in the hotel on level B4. A train station is just around the corner to the left of the building. There a few 7 eleven and family mart 24 hours. I recommend this hotel and especially hotels around Taipei 101. In the malls around Taipei 101 (Breeze) there’s lots of restaurants and cafes in the lower level.Parking was 10 NTW dollars an hour ( I think ).

My family had just finished eating after a wonderful day together and I was happy they wanted to accompany me while I had a "complimentary welcome drink" at The Bar. I ordered an appetizer for myself, since I wasn't very hungry and was told we had to order 1 item per person for them to sit with me. There were few guests in the bar, so capacity was not an issue. So, we left. That, is not complementary, welcoming or good hospitality, regardless of your reasoning. And, dont blaming it on our waiter, he was fine. Hotel management is responsible for this terrible experience. So much for a wonderful day. Yes, you are harshly judged by the absolutely worst policy and experience you provided.

The Metropolitan is a well located hotel with access to Taipei’s extensive metro system across the road. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with everything you’d need for both a short and long stay. The hotel’s swimming pool, gym and spa are a welcome place to relax after a busy day travelling, sightseeing or working. There was a miscommunication at check-in that left me feeling less than welcome. Unfortunately,

5 star hotel in convenient location across the road from Nanjing Fuxing MRT which made it easy for us to get around anywhere in Taipei by MRT. There are three 7-11 convenience stores in close walking proximity for drinks / snacks. Hotel buffet breakfast is truly excellent with a broad range of delicious hot and cold options to cater for western and Asian palates. They also have multiple chefs immediately preparing fresh noodle soup / omelette / eggs your way / and dishes that can vary on a daily basis such as wagu beef with potato mash gratin, spring onion pancake. There is limited hot vegetarian options from the buffet, however I was informed that you can request a vegetarian meal set from the waitress. The hotel room is very clean, spacious and quiet with good sound proofing and blockout curtains for a restful sleep at night. Daily free bottled fresh water is provided in the room. There is an indoor swimming pool available that needs pre-booking to use. We didn’t end up utilising this but wanted it as a backup option for our children who enjoy swimming. Staff are very polite and helpful. We are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 11 and 12y. We stayed together in the deluxe twin room with an extra bed and this was comfortably sized for us. This was our first time in Taiwan and I would highly recommend this hotel!

Great service with nice, tidy, modern rooms. Plenty of water was provided daily, which was a thoughtful touch. The staff were very helpful when we needed to change our check-in time, and they made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The buffet breakfast was great, with a good variety of options and everything fresh and well-prepared. The overall atmosphere was welcoming, and everything was clean and well-maintained. Would definitely recommend!

Location is good.

Property was very clean, staff polite and helpful. Food (including breakfast) average, location not great for tourism, decor a little old fashioned but in good condition, no room service after 9.30pm was odd and the lounge area didn’t service coffee etc so some missed opportunities.

The hotel was well appointed and convenient. It had wonderful dining options (recommend reservations for restaurants) and the staff was kind and helpful. The housekeeper on our floor was terribly accommodating and checked in each day. The subway stop is across the street and there are plentiful restaurants and food stalls around. We loved being close to two parks as well. We will definitely stay here again.

All fine except for question of breakfast cost. I did not reserve breakfast for first day of two day stay; I was told that the discounted charge would be 600NTdollars. When I went to breakfast the second day I was told 831 NT dollars. I walked out.

I loved this hotel. Sound proofing is excellent. I would say comparable to North American standards. Friendly staff, clean and super convenient for MRT station.

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were very friendly and I love that the MRT station was right around the corner. Hotel smelled nice and the room was fantastic. I was traveling with my grandmother and she is a picky woman, but she enjoyed the hotel too!

Nice hotel managed by JR East

This is a very upscale hotel managed by JR East in a good location in Taibei. The hotel is literally across the street from two different MRT portals, making it convenient for getting around. We booked an Executive King Suite, which gave us access to the Executive Lounge. This was a nice feature; however, the reason this hotel is getting four stars and not five is because the food in the Lounge wasn't really very good. This was very surprising given the hotel's rating and the general quality of the breakfast offering. We would have expected a better food offering in the Lounge for guests in the Executive tier. The breakfast was good, the room was extremely clean, and since we had booked a suite, the suite was incredibly spacious. I am not sure if we would stay here again given the issues with the Lounge and the fact that it was very pricey, but you may wish to give this hotel a look.

Great location, comfortable rooms, super clean and well designed hotel. However the breakfast can be improved and service at the restaurant can also be further enhanced.

Nice premium room - spacious with seating couch, room is clean, shower pressure is good. Age of the building is the only downside. Breakfast is not ideal, too many people during Chinese New Year which is understandable. But quality was a bit disappointing and lack of variety. Best part is the Executive lounge, nice place to relax with drink and snack and service is great, special thanks to May. All and all, a good hotel.

My husband stay here on NYE and New Years Day. The neighborhood was very quiet, but there are enough places where we could eat. Really appreciated the attentiveness of staff.

3 min walk from MRT and 10 min from Liaoning Night Market. Very conveniently located. Would definitely stay here again when in Taipei.

Taipei excellent stay

Hotel is top notch. Location right across from MRT. Excellent is every aspect, room is spacious, lots of functional storage which is great since we stayed for 5 nights. Very clean, bed is comfortable and they provide extra firm pillow, thin and thick robes and slippers. Bathroom is very big and comfy with bath and hot shower. Service is fast and great. A lot of Amenities such indoor pool, sauna, gym, spa. Definitely highly recommended, especially for the price.

The staff are friendly. Hwr, My flight into TPE arrived at 5.30pm. That means I needed the room by 7am. The hotel charged me one whole night to allow for this early CHK in. I had done the same with another hotel a few yrs ago. They charged me only a half day. for

Top hotel in a great part of town. The building was beautiful the rooms spacious and super clean. The shower was amazing, great preasure and temperature. I traveled with my 2 sons and they were able to accomodate 3 beds. Would love to come back

Excellent staff and location. It has a classic old style (kinda art deco) with convenient shops nearby and very close to malls for all your other shopping needs. Depending on your room you might have a fantastic view of the Bund. Our main problem was that there was heavy rain on arrival and our room was damp (looks like an ongoing issue since the paint was all bubbled with damp spots on arrival) with water coming through the walls at the ceiling creating a pool on the floor near our window on the 7th floor. This room had a great view. The staff were great, they moved us down the hall to a room that didn't have any dampness issues or water leaking through the ceiling but unfortunately they didn't have any other room available with the amazing view of bund we had in first room

Lovely hotel. Very conveniently located round the corner from MRT station and a short travel distance to main tourist spots in the city. Would recommend! Good quality rooms and nice decor. We used the gym and swimming pool - I would say the pool isn’t your usual relaxing pool but actual swim lines with a small jacuzzi pool. Gym facilities had all the key equipment we required. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again when coming to Taipei!
