Disappointing experience for a five-star hotel
What I liked the most was the hotel's location and the overall comfort of the room. However, my experience was not as expected for a five-star hotel. The service was lacking, they only left two bottles of water in the room and we had to ask for more. Additionally, we couldn't watch the World Cup in the room; it was only available at the bar, where consumption was required. We also had issues with the credit card hold, as a high amount was retained and we are still waiting for the release of the difference. Overall, I was expecting much better attention and experience.

The pool heating was turned off around 5:30 p.m., so it was no longer enjoyable to use it in the late afternoon. The pool bar only served until 5:00 p.m., which greatly limited the experience. Additionally, the shops inside the hotel are closed on Sundays. We also couldn't watch the World Cup from the room; it was only broadcasted at the bar, where consumption was required. To make matters worse, a very high hold was placed on the credit card as a deposit and, upon check-out, the refund of part of that money was still pending. Overall, I was expecting a much higher level of service and attention for a hotel of this category.

Nice hotel with great staff
Nice hotel with great staff. Good selection of restaurants & excellent breakfast buffet. We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi & garden area. Quito old town tour was very interesting & the centre of the earth monument about an hour away. We also did a private tour to Mindo Cloud Forest to feed the wild Hummingbirds from our hands which was wonderful & about 2 hours away - arranged by the hotel reception.

- • I booked for 3 adults and at the time of payment, I was charged extra because my daughter is 16 years old, even though I booked a room for 4 people.
