Beautiful stay, highly recommended
Beautiful pool and facilities, great service, rooms were very nice and clean - staff made our honeymoon/babymoon really special with some gifts in our room on arrival. Food was also really great.

- • It was very difficult to get a pool chair unless you arrived very early - we were told that the hotel allows people to come for day trips and sit by the pool which we felt should’ve been reserved for the guests who were paying to stay there
A great getaway to switch off
For an older property I thought the grounds, landscaping were beautiful. The pool area was great. A little chilly as it’s not heated but beautiful when the sun comes out. Great brekky!

- • Some parts of the hotel are quite tired but they do their best to keep it clean and maintained.
Over priced and disappointing
The resort is stunning, pool area, and grounds stunning. The beach is at its back door and the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast was amazing. Beds were comfortable.

- • Our room was dirty, thick dust on the shutters, the bedside lamp was very dirty, and the bulb caught fire. The staff were mostly cold and un accommodating when I reported trouble, and my room safe was not working, my wallet and valuables locked inside. 3 times reported, and never resolved.
Bed was comfortable, rooms were quiet, although busy it didn't feel overcrowded.

- • Showers were not very hot most nights. Pool is too cold to swim in winter. Room had an old smell to it.
Fabulous luxury right on your doorstep!!
What is not to love about this resort. It is sensational. I always feel extremely fortunate to be able to come here. So gorgeous. Multiple pools, close to the beach. Great breakfast. Restaurants terrific, but you can eat in Port Douglas. Staff super helpful. Kid friendly, but I don't have those concerns these days, but plenty of families there. Rooms a good size, cooling great, room servicing fabulous, shout out to all those cleaners, there is piles of sand. 100% recommend. Only marked down 1 star because it is starting to look a little tired, but really I love it!

Overdue for full refurbishment
This resort is simply not a five-star experience, despite how the property is marketed. It’s way too big and impersonal. It’s in desperate need of a good clean onto the forgotten areas around the grounds. The pools are also in desperate need of TLC, a good clean and some barriers across areas where one could take a wrong turn thinking it’s a path when it’s a pool. The property feels dated and overdue for a refresh. The grounds, while expansive, are very confusing if you come off the beach via wrong entrance. The total lack of signage to reception from beach entrances is frustrating and needs to get remedied. guest rooms are dated and in need of significant renovation. Breakfast selection was in abundance but getting service isn’t easy. Staff hit and miss. Overall, the resort feels well past its prime. No we won’t return. Would look elsewhere in Port Douglas that’s more exclusive.
